Calling all coupon addicts - what do you use to store your coupons?

And where did you get it?

After a couple of years of not couponing - I was totally overwhelmed by them - I just started up again. At one time I had a "coupon wallet", but that was one of the reasons I got overwhelmed. It just wasn't big enough and a lot of coupons would fall out the little slots on the bottom or some would slide down under the little sorting tabs and get lost on the bottom.

Right now I'm using a gallon zip lock to store them so they don't end up all over the house but it's taking me forever to sort thru them and find what I want.

So I need a better storage system. Suggestions please? Pretty Pretty Please. While I'm all about inexpensive I'm willing to spend up to $20. I don't have any counter space (no closet space either - I live in a 1100sf - 70 yo house) so my only other condition is it must be able to fit in a kitchen/desk drawer.

i am also looking for a good coupon holder. i used to have one i got at the dollar store but it fell apart and they didnt have any the last time i checked. i heard bed bath and beyond had a nice plastic one but those were all sold out when i checked. good luck (it would be so nice to be organized).

I use a 12-compartment plastic organizer I got at Staples (actually the local Stop & Shop grocery but in the Staples aisle). It has tabs in which you insert the labels so you can organize it any way you want. I also use the space in front of the first pocket so really there are 13 spaces. It's very durable and costs about $6. ;)

I use a large 3 ring binder with baseball card holders! Yes, I know PSYCHO!!! Everyone laughs at me, but they all come to me to get the couopons! I also use a small accordian style holder for when I go to the store with specific things on my list, that way I don't have to tote the huge one into Walgreens or Kroger! But I always clip and put them into the large on first and they are organized by section ot type of food & poduct, i.e. - frozen foods, canned goods, snack food, personal care etc.
Hope this helps

I thought about doing something like this myself :rotfl: .

I have a couple extra binders that I bought as school supplies but then didn't need but I wasn't sure what I'd put inside the binder to hold the coupons. I don't know if I'm organized to use baseball card holders plus my grocery store sends out really big coupons. But I'll keep this one in mind.

Please keep the ideas coming.

I use envelopes. First they are sorted by over or under a 1.00 aka double-able or not. If they are 1.00 or less then I sort them by department/aisle in their own envelope. Our ad is also divided up by department so it makes it ver easy for match-up for free or also freebies.

I do the same thing ,do people stare at you ,then when you catch there eye they say how organized you are:rotfl:I will say I love it because I always have all my coupons with me ,there are always things on sale that are not in the ad

I use the coupon holder that my 1st grader bought from the dollar store for me for xmas... its ok it even fits in my purse...

i also use paperclips and return env. from bills to sort before i go to the store.

an old diaper wipes box - I made dividers for each section. I also put disney stickers on the box because for awhile the cashiers were thinking I was trying to steal a box of wipes.....:lmao:

I'm another 3-ring binder user and it works great for me. I got the idea from southernsavers.com :lovestruc

I use a zipper binder (just upgraded to a Case-It today!) and baseball card pockets and it works great! It is a little $$$ to get started and it does take a little work to put together (use plastic dividers, not paper!), but it makes prepping for a trip to the store so easy AND it is great to have everything so organized & easy to find when I stumble across an unexpected deal at the store. Hip2Save.com has a great "Follow Me Monday" video on setting up her binder.

For years I used the binder with baseball card pages. But since I am not a big grocery store shopper I have stared filing whole inserts by the date.

Also have a file for any coupons just for each of the drug stores I shop.

CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aide is where most of my coupon shopping is done. I check the ads online and clip coupons as I need them. Normally slickdeals , hotcouponworld, etc. will have the coupon match-up listed with date and source. Those coupons go in a small plastic accordian style folder sorted by store.

Clipping and sorting takes more time than I want to spend. The only down side is you do not have coupons on hand if you come across a good deal. When that happens I make myself a note of the deal and store. Will go back later.

I use a 2" ring binder that zips up. I have some of the baseball card holder pages for the smaller coupons, but use mostly insertable pages for 3x5 photos. These work great for the large coupons and internet printables. My dividers are plastic and labeled based on the aisles of my grocery store. I can just flip section to section as I walk the aisles, and snag unadvertised deals easily.

I have a separate alphabetical address book that I use for drugstore items. The deals are based on brand name, so I sort that way. I put this and my ecbs, shopping lists, etc.... into a small plastic check file that I got at the dollar store.

I put both items into my bag of reusable grocery bags when I go into the store. Because everything is sealed up, I don't have to worry about all the coupons falling out.

The ladies at www.krazycouponlady.com have a how-to section on their website that is great.

Good luck! :cool1:

I have gone the route of no clipping till I need them.... I store all whole coupon sections, write the date on them with a sharpie marker and put them in a file folder. THEN, each week, I go to www.couponmom.com with my list, go to the coupon finder and the website tells me what coupon insert has the coupons I need. I also go to www.southernsavers.com and www.iheartpublix.com (I live in GA). I have saved a fortune this way... I buy things in bulk when they are on sale and 'put it on the list' for another time when it's not on sale...

I just use a small plastic recipe box with the dividers set up to the aisles of the store.

I have a purse set up just for coupons. I put them in photo albums (you know - the type that cost about $1 and might be labeled as brag books) and I label the outside of the album paper products/laundry, snacks, drinks, etc. It works great when I'm in the store and find a special that I know I have a coupon for. I just find the album that goes with the product and thumb through it until I find it. Also, the purse fits great in the buggy and I can add my phone, credit cards, etc to the purse. I've wanted to try the baseball card notebook but don't have the energy to set up something new.

I use a large index-card-file box that I got at Staples or someplace like that. I got a pack of the large brightly colored index cards for dividers, and have them grouped by category like "bread, pasta, rice," "ice cream," "medicine & vitamins", etc.

It is small enough to keep in my car all the time (except for when I'm adding to it) and I can flip through and remove expired coupons while waiting at school pickup, or even in a long line at the grocery store.

I also keep the coupons together as part of the insert and just put them in a drawer. There have been very few occasions where I didn't have the coupons I needed. For the wine tags, peelies, hangtags, etc. I use the traditional small coupon wallet that stays in my purse.

This is exactly what I have...I believe it is called a check organizer.
