Hi there

I have requested Block 4 when booking at my travel agents in the UK. This is the Dalmations one, which my DD loves. My question is, is it possible to request a certain side of the building and if so, which is the preferred/best side to stay on? I also wondered if faxing was the only way to ask for certain specific things, like which level you would prefer to be on etc or can a phone call work? Should i give an alternative block in case that one is full?
Any experiences of certain locations in block 4 or advice would be really helpful.

Hi.
I haven't stayed at the Dalmatians myself. Looking at the map I don't see that one way would be preferred over the other. Looks like one side is courtyard, with the othe building directly across. The other sides are bordered by other buildings also, with parking lots in the background.
And just keep in mind you can request a certain building, but aren't guaranteed that building. Although from my experience the room assignors do a pretty good job at matching the best they can.
I list my request (or have the DU agent do that). Most times I also fax in my request. But when I haven't, my requests are still matched up.
I request, backside, top floor, corner room, non-smoking, certain building. I may not get 100% of my requests, but they do a good job at matching up. So far I have either gotten them all, or maybe just one not met.
Have fun. :)

I've never faxed in my requests. I give the request when I make the reservation and ask again at check in for my request. I have always gotten what I wanted so far.

Is the Buz Lightyear building a good one? It looks like it is close to services and transportation. We are going to be there 6/9-6/16

I think the Toy Story section is very convenient - close enough to the food court and bus stop, but far away enough from the noise and bussle around the main pool. We stayed at the far end of the Mighty Ducks section once and that was really nice too. It was actually closer (really close) to the bus stop at ASMusic.

We stayed in the Woody building (back side, top floor) and loved it. :)
I can't see that the Fantasia building is that much closer than TS. Depending on where the room is in Fantasia, it seems like it could be farther from the main area (but cloer to the main pool).

ASMo has been one of our kid's favorite places to stay. We have been in both the Toy Story building #10 front side, #9 lower level and the Dalmations building #1 rear side. Both locations were great in my opinion; close to the pool, food court, busses. I used the fax recommendation from www.wdwig.com and it worked for us two of the times at ASMo as well as one time at AS Sports when we were successful in keeping three rooms together (grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles!) I have never asked for a specific side of a building but never hurts to ask, I guess. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for helping

I havn't actually got access to a fax machine. Might ask my travel agents to do it for me....not sure if they would ;)

Other than that i will reiterate my request of block 4 at check in and ask for top floor.....anything other than that i can live with.

Hi all,
We have stayed at ASMo twice so far and love it. We were in Dal. 1 last year, ground floor facing the gardens/landscaping part. It was quiet and was a close building if you want to check out the quiet pool Might Duck Pond. I really thought this one was the perfect room, I think it was 1700 something. (loaned out my map of All star to a friend the other day can't tell you exact room #). It was close enough to walk comfortably to the food court, and not far from the busses and really even to ASmu if you really wanted to make sure you had a seat since buses stop there first.
Two weeks ago we stayed at Love Bug 6. I had requested Dal but didn't get it. It may have to do with the fact that we requested connecting rooms, don't know if all the buildings have that. I thought the pool would be loud so didn't want to upgrade to the preferred rooms. It was quite a bit farther to walk and really far to the mighty ducks pool. I don't want to stay there again. Best of luck. I still think ASMo is the best themed hotel because you remember so much about watching Disney movies when you are there........great arcade too.:jester:
