Calling all AKL Fans!!!

We were going to stay at POFQ for five nights and then go to the beach for three before staying with my sister...

My husband said call CRO and see if code BCG is still available (HE ROCKS!). IT WAS!

So we are doing our first resort hop...4 nights POFQ and 3 nights AKL Savannah! I'm so fired up!

You are going to LOVE it!! Request Zebra Trail, Arusha Savanna for the best location, IMO (I was on Kudu Trail 5th floor; Arusha Sav. when we went concierge; 2d floor Zebra Trail; Uzima savanna, this April. I LOVED Zebra Trail (same side of this HUGE resort as pool, Mara, restaurants, main elevators, gift shop, bar, fitness center...) but I must admit the Arusha Savanna was more stunning. Zebra Trail has rooms on both Arusha and Uzima savannas...
Good luck and I hope you'll be able to take some time to explore the resort - you will NOT regret it

It's wonderful @ AKL!!! We were there @ the end of May. Be sure to try Boma or Jiko. Mom & I went to Boma & it was excellent. Be sure to report back!!!

CONGRATS!!! What a great guy your dh is!

You will absolutely love AKL!! We went in Dec 03, and are making a special trip to return in July as well as taking the whole family there for a Grand Gathering in Dec 04! THAT is how much we loved it!!

There is nothing I can say negative - only positives from us!

We loved the atmosphere from the minute we drove up - the CMs are super, the lobby is stunning, the savannah view from your room is unbelievable!

Definitely plan some time relaxing at the pool - it is beautiful and just a few steps away from animal viewing also.

The choices at Mara are very good - over and above a typical food court in our experience! The food at Boma is delicious and there is the unusual items for the adventurous in your party. Definitely try the Zebra Domes!

We also thought that Zawandi Marketplace (the store at the resort) was fabulous! I loved the unique items, the overall helpfulness of the CMs and the size!!

The bus ride situation is perfect in my mind - one spot for all riders, no stops until you reach your destination, and great locations at the parks for the bus stops!

Take time to walk around the resort and view the animals from the various windows in the halls! There are also really cool displays to see.

Be sure and go to try the night vision goggles! Talk and ask questions of the CMs on the savannah - they are very helpful and informative!

Do the Hidden Mickey search--ask at the front desk!

ENJOY!! I am looking forward to our upcoming stay, that just typing this out has gotten me excited all over again!!

We have stayed at AKL for a couple of trips. I swore I would never stay anywhere else. Last week stayed at BWInn. AKL is still my fave. You will love it!

I just got back and one of the things that I really liked was how cool and relaxing the lodge is after being out in the hot sun.

My two son's bought drums at the gift shop for their souviners and they loved them.

We're going in September. I can't wait to "fall in love" with AKL too!!! Up until now we have been avid WL fans, but I hear AKL is becoming the new favorite!

I second Zebra Trail, Arusha savannah. We stayed in a 2nd floor room there and it was fantastic! Saw lots of animals outside our window and the location was convenient to Mara. DH and I would get a dessert from Mara after the kids were asleep, sit out on the balcony and enjoy it while watching the animals. It was so peaceful and yep, we could even see the animals at night
