Darlene: I read the word wedding so now I need to give you my 2 cents. Since I just got married at Castaway Cay of course I think it's a fantastic idea. There is no set number of years that a couple needs to be marreied before they can do a vow renewal. The only requirement by DCL is that you provide them proof that you are married. The captain performs the ceremony. I will tell you this.........Our wedding package was 3000.00 and it doesn't include photograghy. The flowers that were included were only mine and Chucks. We paid additional $$ for flowers and 1000.00 for pictures. They give a reception but we were told the package only included 8 people. Not sure how it works for renewal. If you have more it might be more $$. They served cake and champagne at reception. We booked ours a year and 1/2 in advance. It wouldn't hurt to check into and find out if this is something your interested in. It would be so "Magical for you". Here is the number for you to call. 321-939-4610. Let them know you are booked already for 2006. Hope that helps. Good luck in whatever you decide. Tina :D

Before someone else jumps in and claims to be,,, like SANDY or someone,,lol
I am only kidding. more likely it would be Ginny and her "ICE" . Darlene after the yr you had,, I think a "VOW RENEWAL" is in order. And what a more perfect place to have it. :earboy2:
And of course your closest 125 friends will already be there. :cool1:

Terry, we are healthy right now... but its going to catch up to me again. I try to get rest but it doesnt help. The kids go to schools 25 min away from home and Jaclyn is in 2 sports a seasons. But she gets good grades, so I cant complain,9 well I compain to KAREN, next yr, both kids will be at the same school. So I drive ALOT.... :moped:
Ok off to DANIELS school now to help in the CAFE...
Have a great day everyone.. we are due for 3-4 inches of snow today..
Linda.. we have to arrange to meet sometime soon. What age are your children??? Maybe we can go to the mall someday...

Doreen

But Me, You, Joanna, Terry, Carmen, Lyn, Karen and Cindy can all be bridesmaids. Wouldnt that be fun!!!.. All in our bathing suits and sarongs with braided hair stumbling down the aisle on Castaway Cay. And for the reception we can have a Smoothie meet. And all the BOB's can throw a bachelor party for Stan the Man!

Honestly though Darlene, I love the idea of a vow renewal. Bob and I will be married 14 years on 8/1/06 , I wonder if he would go for that? Or even better, I wonder if I would say yes again?? LOL of course Im just kidding!

We have a new member of our family. As many of you know, our english bulldog passed away on 10/30. Well on friday we got a Bull Terrier (Target Dog or Spuds Makenzie) puppy. His name is Monty. As much as I will admit that I voted no to another dog (and obviously lost by a 3 to 1 vote) he is very cute. Bob and the kids just love him. Timing couldnt have been worse as this is Bob's busiest time of the year with UPS and is working 12 or more hours a day but thankfully that will be over in 2-1/2 weeks.

Doreen - My kids are 5(dd) & 7(ds). Where in N. Syracuse do you live? We should definetly get together after Christmas. I went to Carousel both Saturday & Sunday(not by choice) and only got 2 sweaters and some pictures. It was so packed. I think I need to take a day off just to shop. Having a big vacation so close to the Holidays just threw everything off for me this year.

Darlene - great idea about renewing the vows!!! I've been thinking about it too because it will be our 10th anniversary in 2006 but I don't think that we are going to have the extra $. I think if I am going to do it I want to get a really nice dress, ect. and I don't think that is possible in 2006. Great news about your son. Also, I have been meaning to tell you (now that I am almost thru reading all of the old posts) that if Stan has anymore skin problems let me know because my Sister sells wound care products to Nursing Homes and her she is always helping friends, ect. with the latest and greatest in skin care. I know she would be glad to dispense some advice and she almost always has stuff laying around that she can give to people.

Tina - I miss you, and no, I have not accomplish anything for Christmas.

Welcome Denise!!!

Linda

I don't know where to start, I had pages to read.

First...WELCOME to the new additions to our cruise, glad you will be joining us!!!!!!!!

Ginny...You had me ROTFLMAO about walking down the aisle lopsided. A puppy, how cute, we (Samantha and I) want a puppy real bad, I want a Bichon Frise. So instead we got a fish on Saturday LOL Samantha named him Bill Oney, I call him Sushi, but you know in the end his name will be Flush.

Darlene...How is Stan? Glad you heard from your son, thanks for sharing it warms the heart. :D Mitch and I were going to renew for our 25th anniversary on DCL in 2002, but he didn't want to do it, wow how many people can renew for $1,000 LOL

CV...What's with your back? And New Year's is at your house? I didn't know, I am going to Lancaster, PA for New Year's Eve. Maybe I can still cancel my reservation.

8/20/05 cruise...Is everyone getting MAD (meaning crazy) from excitement or are you talking about MAD (angry) If it's MAD (angry) let me know which page number to start on.

Terry...WOW 89 more weeks, I can hardly believe it.

OK who did I miss? I'm sorry if I missed anyone

Hi to everyone else

Joanna

Thanks for all the good advice on the vow renewal. I wasn't sure how much it would cost and now I have a ballpark to work with. If you are all right about the $1000, that would be more than we spent to get married in the first place LOL!

Of course you would ALL be bridesmaids, except of course Doreen who wants to be a flowergirl. Do you think I can get matching dresses for her and Sandy? Oh, I'm sorry I forgot, bathing suits and sarongs. A smoothie reception sounds just about right, too. Gotta' find those cordless smoothie makers, guys, come on.

JOANNA - the 8/20/05 cruise thread is "mad" as in crazy people. Most of it doesn't even have anything to do with the cruise. I'm betting that they are all really quiet and reserved people and won't resemble the chatter that they make on-line. Of course I could be wrong and the whole cruise could be one big Animal House type party! I'm in trouble.
You got a fish! I agree with you about the Bichon Frise. If I had a dog that would be what I would get. Apparently they are not very active and are good with children. They do require grooming though. Sandy and I keep lobbying for a dog, but Stan says we don't have the time to take care of one properly. I know he is right but I wish Sandy could have a dog. We had to give away her cat because she was so allergic.

GINNY - I know your new dog won't take the place of your loss, but he will make his own way into your lives. Best wishes!
Wouldn't it be fun to be a bridesmaid in a sarong? All you have to do is show up and eat cake and drink smoothies. But you DO have to bring the ice! Doreen will be so busy dropping flower petals that she will never get near the ice, I promise.

TINA - I'm going to check with DCL about the vow renewal. This is all partly your fault, you know. I got so excited hearing all about your plans and seeing the wedding pictures that it made me start thinking.

EVERYONE - have a good night! :grouphug:

Darlene

They're still coming off two by two, as I lost another two pounds this week. I have now past the halfway point of my goal. I have now lost 26 pounds since September 1st, and I feel GREAT!!! I'm down to 198, it's the first time I have been under 200 pounds in several years. :D

Andy...WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doreen...Dropping flower petals and missing the booze. LOL

Andy, you are just melting off those lbs. Good for you! Glad to hear you are feeling great, that is what is important.
Notice I haven't posted any results...I honestly haven't taken the time to weigh-in. But I don't feel any heavier or lighter, so that's my story and I am sticking to it!

Darlene

I was in Target on Sunday night and they have a Mickey Mouse Smoothie maker!!! It is red and black and I think it has ears on the top. I immediately thought of you guys!! I think it had a cord though!!!

Andy-Congrats on the weight loss!!

I hope everybody else is doing well and on the road to good health!

It is damp, cold and rainy here in SE PA...I wish it would snow or do something, I don't like the drearies. :umbrella:

We haven't had any snow at my house yet this year (although Devin is praying like mad for an early snow day). However, my week has been affected by snow.

Yesterday morning (Monday), I dropped Devin at school and stopped to gas up my car on the way to work. As soon as I got to the office there was a message waiting for me from Devin. Right after I left, he was informed that there was a 2 hour delay for the start of school that day.

Apparently, the outlying areas of the school district got snow and the delay was for the busses in that part of the district. Geeze, how was I to know. It rained all night at our house and I never thought to turn on the news or the radio to see if there was a delay or closure for school. (Water, even lots of it, doesn't phase us northwesterners.)

Anyway, I had to grab a stack of work to take with me and go rescue the child until school started. That is how my week started and it hasn't improved a whole lot. (But the countdown to vacation is down to 8 more workdays - YEA!)

Life isn't totally horrible, however. That cold I had never did quite make it into a case of bronchitis. I still have just a liitle bit of a 'left-over' cough at this point. Thank goodness! I thought that the "barking cough" was going to drive my dogs absolutely bonkers. Especially the dachshund, he thought that I was 'barking' at him.

I also shelled all of my walnuts this weekend! I ended up with 5 gallon-size ziplock bags full of walnut halves. (A new record!) Just to clarify the amount for the rest of you... that's 14 pounds of nuts. It was quite the adventure. The dachshund likes nuts and I had to battle with him all weekend. I sounded like a freakin' three year old, "Leave those nuts alone! Those are MINE! Mine, mine, mine!" I wonder what my crop would have looked like if I hadn't missed the first week of the harvest galavanting aound the Caribbean with you guys. (The nuts were just starting to drop when we left for the cruise.)

AND... Tonight I'm off to finish the last of my Christmas shopping! (I even got my stepmom's package sent off yesterday.) Unfortunately, Devin hasn't even started his shopping yet. Oh well, so much for avioding the crowds. (But then again, if I really luck out, his father will take him to get most of it done while he has the kid this weekend. I can always hope!)

Now on to others...

Darlene - The vow renewal sounds like a grand idea. If we weren't going to be so far from home, I'd see if my mom wanted to do the flowers. She used to be a certified florist, but could make a decent living at it working for someone else (the shop owners are the ones that make the money). However, she loves doing flowers and cakes for weddings as a hobby. (You guys were wondering how I could be crazy enough to volunteer for creating the t-shirts? Well, she's proof that I come by it honestly.)

Doreen - If you want to be the flowergirl then we'll have to make sure that you get the proper behavioral training. (I've been one twice in my life.) Let's see... there's refusing to drop the petals while walking down the aisle. Then there's making faces across the aisle at the ring bearer during the ceremony. And let's not forget, refusing to pose for any of the pictures. Oh, and if you really want to follow in my footsteps, there's taking a pair of scissors to your hair about a week before the ceremony. (Boy, did I get in trouble for that one! Thank God, the lady that did my hair was talented enough to hide it.)

Tina - The wedding pictures were great. It looks like you guys are going to have great memories of your wedding. (I have to admit that they made me a bit jealous, though. Those sunny skies and that blue, blue water... and I'm stuck here with gray skies and rain. ICK!)

Andy - "Two by two", huh? Sounds like Noah unloading the ark! LOL (But seriously, great job!)

Denise & Andrew - Welcome to our happy little tribe!

Joanna, Terry, CV, & Sue - Glad to see that we all survived the Thanksgiving food-fest! Hope that your preparations for the upcoming Holidays go smoothly!

Bobby/Cindy & Karen - MIA? Hope that you guys are okay!

Anyone I missed - I hope that things are going well for you.

Well, I better get a bit more work done before I leave for the day.

Here's a batch of good vibes for anyone that needs it!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Dori

Dori, you sure have the flower girl thing on the head... I remember when Jaclyn was a flower girl.. boy she would not smile for nothing.. Oh I am sure I can make faces and pout alright,, I will have to start to practice now :cool1:

Karen what do you think??

UMM I love walnuts... ok Dori,, so instead of being in your field of WALNUTS.. you were on the SHIP of NUTs with us,,lol (JUST KIDDING GUYS)... personally, I would rather be with all of you again in a heart beat... :rockband: (or drum beat).

OK, it is official. Doreen gets to be a flowergirl. Can you imagine Sandy and Doreen sticking their tongues out at each other as they glide down the aisle bombing petals at each other? That would be quite an advertisement for Dori's "Flowergirl 101" course. Of course, Dori's "Flowergirl Advance Course" comes complete with photographer evasion techniques, so no one will ever have physical proof that they were even there, let alone misbehaving.

Darlene

You guys are cracking me up!!  I can just see us all now as bridesmaids.... Hey, I can have a friend of mine make us all matching sarongs...maybe in a Mickey Mouse fabric. Make that, Mickey & Minnie fabric, after all, it's for a vow renewal ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I can just picture Doreen and Sandy sticking their tongues out at each other and whipping the rose petals around :earboy2:

P.S. I agree.....we were a Ship of Nuts!! And I mean that in a GOOD way! :jumping1:

Okay one smoothie-drinking Bridesmaid checking in LOL! Now the idea of being a bridesmaid in a bathing suit and sarong has me thinking about my diet again! BTW Andy you're doing great!

Thanks to all for inquiring about my back, luckily it much better, I don't have back problems usually, so I must have twisted funny or something. Or heaven-forbid it's old age catching up with me.

I am a lunch aide now at my son's old elementary school and I have an adorable 3rd grade class. Anyway, the other day a group of them asked me how old I was and one chimed in with "you never ask anyone that". I told her her mother had trained her well LOL. I said it was okay though and that I was 44. Well, they almost fell off their chairs, you know, "44, you're really old" type stuff. I laughed and laughed. I guess at 8 years old 44 might as well be 104!

I just finished my Christmas cards and am going to the Post Office (Ginny I'm sending the lanyard sorry took so long). We got our Christmas card on the 8/28 cruise and it is really adorable. I was thinking I'd like to send you all cards but I only know Ginny's address. So if anyone is into the Christmas Card exchange please PM me. I myself, love Christmas Cards. It gives me a chance to catch up with my friends and see pics of their kids too!

Ginny - Best of luck with the new Pup! We got our rescue dog in time for Christmas last year, hence her name Christmas (Chrissy the rest of the year LOL). Even though the pup won't replace the dog you lost, there's nothing like an adorable puppy.

Joanna - Flush - that is hysterical! We recently flushed our goldfish Henry that we had for more than a year. Believe it or not I cried. How in the world I grew attached to a fish I'll never know! Good luck with your new addition.

Doreen - No word from Karen, how is she?

Darlene - I definitely want to be a BM (never mind that some people already call me a BM) Oh, I'm sorry that is a really bad pun! LOL!

Terry, Denise, Linda, Dori, Tina, Sue, Diane - Hi friends!!

Hope I didn't miss anyone!

ALMOST AT PAGE 100!!!

Later,
CV
