Hi everyone,

Just watched the Yankees lose (again).

We're still looking at August 2009 to cruise. The itinerary will determine which cruise line. The kids want DCL no matter what but DH & I are ready to see more islands other than Nassau and CC.

Keeping fingers crossed DCL does some kind of longer itinerary in the Caribbean in the summer of '09. I don't care which ship.

I think that Magic 5-day cruise in September 08 is terrific. Too bad DCL couldn't figure out how to get the Wonder to mix in some 5-night cruises in '08.

Interesting comment about returning to shorter cruises after doing a repo cruise. I had just as much fun on my 3-night cruise as on our 7-night cruise in '06. It was like ordering the sample platter versus a 7 course meal.

It also helps that the Wonder has a terrific bunch of CMs.

To all the Phillies fans......welcome to what we Mets fans are feeling. I couldn't even watch that game last night.

My Girl Scout troop went tent camping on the beach in Wildwood, NJ last weekend. What a total blast!!! Weather was picture perfect. There were 4,000 people there in over 1,000 tents on the beach. I had such a stressful September that it was the perfect antidote.

don't get me started about the Phillies lol, you should have seen the other board I post on. All I say is at least I am not a die hard baseball fan like I am with NJ Nets, my mom thinks I am crazy if you ever cruise during basketball season with me and nets are playing be sure to not be next to me lol

Kay, I was thinking about you and your family last weekend, well, the last few weeks of the regular baseball season that is, tough to watch your team suffer through that downfall I'm sure. The Phils are just playing against a red-hot Rockies team right now, as they have won 16 out of their last 17 games.

It is nice to see the Phillies in the playoffs(first time in 14 years), but they sure could be playing better.................:rolleyes1  :rolleyes1

As the old saying goes, "There's always next year." :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

We are looking at doing an extended family cruise to Bermuda in Aug/09. Either out of Boston or NY. I guess I'll wait till the spring to see what they'll be offering!

If the Red Sox win today they continue on to play the next team for the AL championship. It's nail biting time! :cheer2:

Just listened to today's podcast show are the rumors sound exciting for the summer of 2009 (Alaska) and summer of 2010 (Trans-Pacific to Hong Kong)..........:goodvibes

Also during summer of 2009 and 2010 the Wonder will be doing 3,4 and 7 night cruises..........:goodvibes

I think I will have to start saving my pennies for the summer of 2009!!! :thumbsup2

Also, rumor for the names of the two new ships were discussed as well (Dreams and Wishes)............ :goodvibes

Thanks for that info, Andy. Alaska? Well.... ok... but I won't be on the Magic in 2009!

However, VERY SMART MOVE for DCL to have the Wonder doing some 7-night itineraries that summer. ::yes:: *Maybe* I'll be on the Wonder in 2009. LOL

Andy: Have a wonderful time in Chicago in May! :sunny:

Thanks Andy for posting that info (at least I don't have to listen to it, too much to do today.....like having to drive DS's trumpet to school because he forgot it  )

Wow - so much to digest. Alaska and Asia sound like dream itineraries but I don't even want to think about the cost.

And I am just so relieved that DCL has not forgotten us 7-night summer Caribbean fans. When I was on the Wonder last month, I did get the sense from the officers I spoke with that DCL was aware of the frustration people have of no summer Caribbean cruises.

I think there are a lot of people taking back-to-back Wonder cruises in 2008 and that sent a strong message to DCL.

I had a feeling that DCL would go with more Panama Canal crossings - they couldn't ignore that twice now those cruises sold out so quickly. We are so anxious to do a longer Caribbean cruise that we will probably pass on a PC cruise in 2009. But 2010 might be an option.

Exciting times.

Andy,

We saw the Mets play in Philly back on Aug 30th...the game that the Phillies won 11-10 in the bottom of the 9th. Exciting game. DD actually cried at the end, tears streaming down her face and everything. Somebody saw her crying and said "hey, you're still in 1st place".

Yeah, it was just terrible to watch a team just self destruct like that. Definitely the pitching gets most of the blame but I was extremely disappointed at the poor showing by some of the star players.

On the other hand......I thought it was great that the Phillies did not throw in the towel and roll over. Great example to all kids that you never give up and you play hard in every game because anything can happen.

I was so rooting for the Phillies. I completely missed the first playoff game because I forgot it was a 3pm game. I did watch the second game and had to turn it off because I felt so bad for the Phillies. Then when the lights went out during the third game I thought that was some kind of divine sign so I stopped watching that one as well.

But the Phillies will always be able to say they were the NL East champions.

That Rockies/Diamondbacks series is going to be great!!!

By the way......moving on the Yankees....I think catcher Jorge Pasada looks a bit like cruise director Andy Carbone. Every time I watch a Yankees game and see Posada it makes me laugh. I mentioned this to DH and he agrees.

Just listened to the Podcast......so do we have a crusin castaways reunion in August 2009 on the Wonder in the works????? :goodvibes

We are so there......emailed DH right away and told him we can stop looking at other cruise lines.

2009 has a really late Labor Day.....September 7th. Be curious which weeks the Wonder will do the 7-night itinerary.

Isn't it funny, but Hazel is making salmon for dinner, salmon from Alaska I might add, and she didn't even know about the DCL rumor about Alaska when she decided we would be having this for dinner tonight...............

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

For some reason my kids decided to watch the Disney channel as soon as they walked in the door from school. Normally they watch Cartoon network. I haven't mentioned to them the DCL rumors.

I'll totally be on the wonder in 2009 if it has 7 day cruises. I'm just addicted to cruises lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

In our school system with a late Labor day, that means school will start before labor day

The week Aug 31 - Sept 5 I bet school will start on the first.

Good Evening Sir

Home here tonight, just sitting here listening to Christmas music on the TV.

The cruise was nice and we had a good time, we just really missed the Disney touches. I wouldn't mind doing a RCI cruise again, but it would have to be on a newer and larger ship. The same time that we were on the Sovereign, I had a friend that was on the Freedom of the Seas, he said it was really nice, this was also his first non-Disney cruise.
