Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

I can't believe that I finally made it through all of these posts. I go away for a few days and it takes me hours to catch up.

Congrats to Moira & Elaine for the getting us to 10,000 and for an incredible guess.

We are leaving on 8/18 at 8:00am(ok, probably 8:30) to drive to the Rochester airport. We should be in the air by 12:30pm and in Orlando by 3:15pm.

Last year we put in a new driveway and AC/ We found a hole in the driveway on Friday and now our new AC is not working again(3rd time this year). It will be a long night.

Tina - of course we are in for tag.

Doreen - looks like we may be running into you guys alot.

Andy & Ed - my husband who insisted on making our door magnets has not managed to make them yet and is a little stressed out with computers at work (You probably understand that Ed) and the ones that he is building at home. If either, or both of you have time, any chance you could print me out a magnet. I will send you money or give it to you on the ship. He may get them done but just to be safe I want to have a backup plan. Can't have too many door magnets anyway. If you don't have time I completly understand.


Let's start a list of what unusual (or not so unusual) items we are packing for cruise. I am thinking about things that you wouldn't think of if it wasn't for the DISBOARDS. I'll start -

Over the door shoe holder
Highlighters for Navigator
White board for door
Clothes pins to hang up bathing suits
Ziplock baggies

Hi All!

We've been gone pretty much all day. Went to go spend time with my MIL (about an hour away), she's been having a hard time since my FIL passed away. It will take some time for her, but she is stronger than she thinks.

On the way back, we hit bad traffic and couldn't make it to my son's pick-up hockey game. Oh well, got to come back and catch up on reading the boards a little sooner!

We leave for vacation at about 6:00 a.m. (pacific time) on 8/18.

OK, I've got a silly little question to ask - If we're at the port and I see people that I think might be some of you DISers, and I get the courage to come on over to say hi, how do you all refer to the board?

Do you spell out the letters D-I-S boards OR do you pronounce it dis (rhyming with miss?)

Hi Kris,

I pronounce it sounding like this DIZboards. If you see a ton of people in lime green leis, then all you have to say is, "Are you one of the Cruisin' Castaways?"

oops I forgot to add our itinerary...we will be flying out of Logan on the 18th at 7:25am so we will probably leave our house around 5:30am. It only takes us about 30-40 minutes but I prefer to be early. We won't be back until Sept. 1st so if you guys are posting away when you get back I will miss it!!! What am I saying...not if I mean when!

Joanna - yes we cancelled the Crown Princess 12/9 and switched to RCCL Adventure of the Seas 12/10 also doing the Southern Caribbean. I'll check on the other cruise tomorrow. Can't get through now.

Thanks Bev, I appreciate you trying to find out about the explorer.

Anyone going to St Pete Beach between 8/12-8/19. We'll be there if anyone is in the area. Nothing like meeting DISers. Let me know

I booked, cancelled, then rebooked this cruise at a much too LATE date. I have not had time to even think about ordering nametages, lanyards, door signs, magnets, pins, etc. (I still haven't unpacked all those things from last August!!!) So, I won't be wearing lime green, but the kids' stoller is lime green (!!!) so if you see us, feel free to say Hi. (Actually, the stroller is mostly grey, with lime green accents, BUT, the company officially calls it lime green!!!

Bev...I am supremely jeaolous of your upcoming cruise intineraries. I had both cruises booked since last August, even though I knew I would only do one, I can't tell you how many times I thought about doing both. If I wasn't clear out in CA, I would be doing wha you're doing!!! I do have one of the fish extenders that was made specifically for the 11 day cruise, If you didn't get one, let me know and I'll give you mine on the 7 day cruise. It is awesome, but was made specially for that cruise, so I'm willing to give it up. Still can't beleive I gave up TWO onboard credits/discounts during this year of wishywashyness!!!

we lived in Massachusetts for 5 years, specifically in Hopkinton (start of the marathon!) We're native Californians, so it's kind of funny that, as a result of living in Mass for those years, we're now a hockey family of all things.
