Looking forward to meeting those who can make it this coming Friday!!!

Have fun gang. I will be in my backyard hopefully bagging the last of the leaves for this year.

This was sent to me by an online friend:

One year at Thanksgiving my mom went to my sister's house for the
traditional feast. Knowing how gullible my sister is, my mom decided
to play a trick. She told my sister that she needed something from
the store.

When my sister left, my mom took the turkey out of the oven, removed
the stuffing, stuffed a Cornish hen, and inserted it into the turkey,
and re-stuffed the turkey. She then placed the bird(s) back in the
oven.

When it was time for dinner, my sister pulled the turkey out of the
oven and proceeded to remove the stuffing. When her serving spoon
hit something, she reached in and pulled out the little bird.

With a look of total shock on her face, my mother exclaimed,
"Patricia, you've cooked a pregnant bird!" At the reality of this
horrifying news, my sister started to cry. It took the family two
hours to convince her that turkeys lay eggs!

Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!

Andy, Hazel and Angelina

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, But I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned - The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation With all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees....
Happy eating to all - Pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty, May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy Have nary a lump,
May your yams be delicious May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner Stay off of your thighs.

Good Morning All, it's Turkey Day 2005!!! :flower:

Here's wishing all my fellow Cruisin' Castaways a

"Happy Thanksgiving!!!"

......................from my after turkey nap, LOL!!!

We had a nice day at home this year. I had our turkey in the oven by 9am as Hazel and Angelina slept in until about 10am.

Hazel joined her dad, sisters and brother at her mother's grave at 11am and arrived home at noon. The two of us finished getting dinner ready and we were sitting down to eat at 1:30pm. After dinner, we watch the movie "Notebook" this was the first time I saw it, and I thought it was well written.....if you've never seen it, tissue warning. After watching the movie, we had some pumpkin pie, then watched the movie "Elf" to lift our spirits a bit.

I'm gonna fix myself a turkey sandwich, give Midnight his medicine, then just chill out for the rest of the night.

Lyn (lynr) was supposed to meet with us for brunch on Friday, but she sent out an e-mail sharing with us that her mother-in-law suffered a stroke last night and is not doing well. Lyn, we will miss you and Bob at the brunch, we trust your mother-in-law is improving and is on the road to recovery.

Take Care Friends,

Andy

Just got back from dinner at my sister-in-laws. I am ready for a nap, but I'm trying to hold off!

So sorry to hear about Lyn's mother-in-law. I wish them the best.

I hope everyone has a great time at the brunch tomorrow. I wish I could be there to meet everyone. Can't wait to hear all about it when you guys get back!

Diane

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Well the bird is eaten, the dishes cleaned, and my calorie count for the day is right on target.

Have a great time at the brunch tomorrow.

We'll be leaving here in about 30 minutes to head to the Red Lion Diner!!! Angelina is fixing her hair at the moment, once that is done and she gets dressed, we will be on our way!!!

See you soon!!! :goodvibes

Hi All,

We arrived home a few minutes ago from the brunch, after dropping Angelina off at her friends house on the way home.

We had such a nice time meeting everyone, and I did get a few photos that I will share a little later. I have the photos in my laptop, I just have to get them moved into my photobucket account, then I will post them. I think we spent about three hours at the diner, most of the time was talking about Disney (of course, LOL!!!), but we did do some eating. Yes, I did order the Salmon Weight Watchers plate, and I even took a photo of it, LOL!!!

It was "great" meeting Terry, John and Stan for the first time, and it was good seeing Darlene, Sandy, Bev and Lindsay again. We had a total of 10 people for the brunch. We're going to try and set up another meeting when Terry and John are back in the area.

Hazel brought home about half of her Chicken Ceaser Salad, so I'm going to finish it for dinner tonight. After all the cooking yesterday, we are giving ourselves the day off today!!!

More Later,

Andy
