Hi all! Just wanted to let you know that I called this morning and booked 11 nights, 11/28-12-09. We got a premium site, being that our camper is 40ft long with 3 slides, and there was not an issue at all about being booked up.

So there is hope for anyone looking for a site! This will be our second time at the Fort and I'm already on the countdown!

excited is the understatement of the year!! We went the first time in Dec. 07, and my boys ask just about every week when we're going back. This morning they had to be quiet so that I could "call Disney and see if they have room for us this year".
Now I'm trying to convince family that the Fort is the way to go.

Hi...We booked just about that same time 11/28/09-12/12/09. Can't wait to go, trying out the premium site also. It will be the first time seeing disney in all it's Christmas glory. Really hoping to get back some of that Christmas spirit.

Wow that's amazing! I just booked Nov 29 - Dec 17... our dates really overlap! Now, I just need to find a way to let the wife know in the next nine months! LOL. We'll probably trim it down to 14 days, just not sure if we want to trim the Thanksgiving days or the closer-to-Christmas days at this point.

I'm not usually a joiner on the web. In real life, you can't get me to shut up! But it would be fun to meet some people with so many of us overlapping dates. I know you guys do that stuff all the time, but with our job, I usually try to stay anonymous on the internet and as reclusive as possible in real life.

Oh, absolutely! Meeting DISers is a big part of the fun! I'll have my Limey out... which in Fort-Fiend-speak means that I have a sign with a lime green mickey head and my DISboard name on it to identify me as a DISer. Just a warning, if you put out a Limey strange people will stop by at all hours expecting free beer... but the otters will know you are wise to their shenanigans and will only attempt to steal from you when the other unwitting campers are all exploited.

We took the plunge and booked our first Dec trip last night also , Dec 5 for 8 nights . I wanted more but wife says "baby steps dear , baby steps" She always wins .

Scott, for our first trip to the Fort, we ended up calling the front desk and adding time on. This time, we are leaving the day after Thanksgiving and doing the drive home all in one day because I *have* to be home on the 10th. We wanted to make sure that we had plenty of time to just hang around the Fort this time.

Definitely! That Saturday after Thanksgiving might be the headache day for you, so start trying now!

On the plus side, coming in the Sunday after Thanksgiving hasn't ever been a problem. In 2006 we managed to book that in late Sept.

We tried to book Thanksgiving week 2008 starting Jan'08 and had ZERO luck. We kept trying for months and finally moved the trip up a week.

It's definitely a popular time to be at the Fort!!

Count me in! I made reservations last month for the weekend after Thanksgiving through mid December (sad that I don't remember the dates isn't it?)

Fort Wilderness at Christmas....sigh....I can't wait

I booked 12/18-12-26/09. I wanted dates through 1/3/10, but couldn't get the full set of dates. I'll keep calling back from time to time to see if I can add the other dates.

The only thing available for the dates I got was primium...no preferred, but for $10//night, it's no biggie and I'm glad to not have to deal with the sand.
