I just received confirmation this morning that my reservation was amended. I called last night to add our fastpass number and the price jumped up more than $25 a rental. Whats up with that? If I call them again will they change the price back? I had no idea the rental fee w/ the fast pass costs more...:confused3

Do you have an earlier written confirmation? Call them and ask why it got amended. If you did not go ahead with a change that showed a price increase then the old price should still be in effect. Get a yet newer written confirmtaion.

This is one of the reasons I've been avoiding Budget recently. It seems if you modify your reservation in any way, you often pick up the current rates as well, even if you don't change the car or times.

I don't think Budget is the only one doing this; Alamo seems to be pretty good about letting you modify reservations at the old rate (so I assume National would be the same way).

But what a pain in the behind!! I knew everything was falling into place so nicely!! Something had to go bad!! :upsidedow

Was your original reservation made online? If so, you may have been rated with an online only rate. When you called, it made that rate invalid and your price increased.

We had a problem with Budget last March at MCO, counter was closed (Can yu believe that) and DH (with broken foot) would have to ride the shuttle to an offsite location....he rented with Dollar instead. Just don't trust Budget anymore.

I spent an hour on the phone - got transferred to an Avis customer service rep - had to call back - they cannot change my rate back but they are willing to open a case and after I rent the car they will credit me the difference. They can't change the rate now...:confused3 I am so not happy. :headache:

Can you try making a new reservation online using the fastpass number they gave you? Then, if you get the old rate, call and cancel the reservation you made over the phone.

I know I made reservations trying both with and without my fastbreak number and it was the same (I already had the fastbreak account).

After all that time & effort -- I went in this morning and made a new reservation -- took out the fastbreak # attached to our signin and voila! I got my rate back....that is unreal - guess I know now --I will never use that fastbreak number again --- they don't allow you to get the lowest rate.....time to cancel my old reservation. Funny thing is --- Cape Canaveral doesn't even have a fastbreak capability. I realized after I had them change our reservation.

Did you try to make a new reservation with your Fastbreak number online? I am still wondering if this is an online versus phone rate issue.

If I use the fastbreak number - I get the $80 price -- if I take out the code - it's $40 --- guess fastbreak isn't so free???!!!

My price remained the same with and without fastbreak attached to the reservation. Isn't that odd that yours went up?
Are you sure they were using this Travelocity code and not the code for the fastbreak discount (which, for my reservation at least, was no discount at all). I ask that because I noticed once that when I signed in with the Fastbreak and didn't enter a discount code, it entered a code on its own and the price was quite a bit higher.

I had this happen a few years ago. When I priced the non fastpass price it was cheaper than with the fastpass.
