Calla lilies

My sister wants to use calla lilies (small, dark red) in her wedding this October and has asked me to make the bouquets. Does anyone know how long they will last in the refrigerator. Sounds like she will need to order them a week in advance to get them out of California. Any time after Sept 30th & they come from far far away (can't remember where she said ) and are much more expensive.

Mary I did the flowers for 2 of my DD and for my DIL. I went with what was in stock at the time. Calla lilies seem to be hardy. I did all the flowers up the day before, they stayed fine refrigerated.

I don't know how long they would last in a home refrigerator. I think the florist have low moisture refrigeration.

Norah had calla lilies for her graduation flowers....on June 14...I just threw them out...they lasted a good long time in water.

Just out of curiosity are the bouquets going to be just Calla Lilies or is she putting something else in them as well?

Thanks for the info. I can't believe Nora's lasted a month! I wonder if the larger type are longer lasting than the small. I'll have to keep them here because they are coming directly from the grower. I should probably get some now and see how they do.

Noodles: I'm not sure what all she wants. I know she wants the boutenniers to be a single petite calla lily. I think she wants her bouquet to be only petite calla's matching the men. But, she keeps calling and asking about different kinds of flowers so I now I don't have any idea anymore.
