My family is planning a WDW trip for the second week in May 2008. I do belong to AAA and when I went to see a travel agent she told me she could not book anything b/c the 2008 rates were not out at that time. Is this correct?

I already know we want to stay at the Poly. There will be 3 children (1 1/2, 2 1/2, and 5) and 4 (possibly 5) adults. I want to book this ASAP b/c I know the Poly can be tough to get in to :sad1:

Their are no pkg out yet but ask if you can book the rooms and then when the pkg come out redo it!!! This is what I am going to do for my september 2008 trip!!

My gosh, I so need help!
You mean call and just book the 2 rooms, nothing more?

Yep, that will secure the room for you when you want it. The 2008 rates should be released sometime this summer from what I understand and then you can add the extras like park tickets/hopper/dining, etc.

ACK!!!! I did not realize you could book rooms only and then add other stuff!!! Would have been nice if my AAA agent would have TOLD me that!
Do you know, can I get the AAA rates if I book right with Disney? BTW, what is a CM?

You should be able to get the AAA discount through Disney no problem. My inlaws just told them they had AAA and they applied the discount, then you just show them your card when you check in. :goodvibes

That's awesome b/c at this point I feel like I am better off just booking things on my own. My AAA agent was not helpful , lol

Yep - you cant book trips yet... at least not packages... we are waiting too... :) for a May 08 trip!!!!

Hi There Moonstorm -- Sorry to hear you're confused:confused3 , but it happens to the best of us. From reading the thread, seems you have gotten the information you needed regarding AAA booking through Central Reservations, so I won't elaborate.

As to your question re "BTW" it is By The Way.

Have a great holiday.

Do you know what is best? To call or to book online?

Oh and I know what BTW means, it was CM I wasn't sure about, but I was told ;)

Hi There -- I always call, that way I can ask any booking questions or get other information I need. In fact, if you call, ask for any discounts that may applicable at the time of your visit. In my experience, the CM :) won't advise you, but if you ask they will look it up.

Happy Disney Planning!!!

I'm going to move this to our Disney Resorts forum. You'll get lots of great information about booking rooms from the helpful posters there. :)

WONDERFUL! Thanks! You have been very helpful.

OK - here area couple points that you need to know!

There are a lot of acronyms used here - you can find what most of them mean at this link ABBREVIATIONS

Secondly if you want to book a room only reservation with an AAA discount this can be done either through AAA, Direct with Disney or through any other TA. But if you are going to want to book a package (tickets, dining, etc) and want to get an AAA discount you must book that via AAA.

What if I book room only myself via Disney, use my AAA discount and then later want to add packages?
