I just got a phone call from someone claiming to be calling from RCI. He asked if I was interested in renting out my unused points.

I said, "Absolutely not."

Any idea if this was legit?

It wouldn't have changed my answer. But I thought I read on here somewhere that the RCI rules prohibit renting out vacation stays. Something about that's why the Rent & Trade Board here doesn't do... something or other. Allow week-long trades that begin on a certain day of the week, maybe? None of it matters to me because my points are always used up by myself or my family. I'm just curious.

I’ve gotten the call too and just say that I use them all! Don’t know who it is, but I’m assuming they are getting info from Comptroller s site.

Yes, RCI rules state you can’t rent an RCI reservation.

Remember, that RCI is not a rental broker. That would be your first clue that it is a scam. RCI is an exchange company. They do have some last minute units that were traded in, that you can rent, but the owner gets nothing from it.
