What's up with a call I got today about dvc taking us to lunch/dinner to explain more about the timeshare and rci etc?

I didn't sign up but found the caller strange
At first she says she is calling about my timeshare. Then I had to ask her what timeshare, then she said dvc

Anyone else get this type of call?

I get them two or three times a month. When I ask them what timeshare I own, they tell me they cannot tell me that. When I said I didn't have an RCI timeshare they told me goodbye, but called me back a few minutes later to tell me I did have an RCI timeshare and to make sure I didn't want to join them for the dinner and information session. I told them I had no plan to ever trade it out and to stop calling.

They are just trying to sell you something. Most likely, they want you to join their vacation exchange club, for which you will pay some hefty up front fees, LOL.

Anytime someone you don't know calls and invites you to a free dinner, they want to sell you something. I would pass. I do not like high pressure sales presentations, and that is more than likely what this free meal will turn out to be.

I am 100% sure DVC & DVD have nothing to do with the company that called. They don't operate that way.

I didn't think it was Disney just by the way the caller presented themselves.
Good to know they were wanting to sell me something. I told them we weren't available.

Your address is on file as a public record on your deed, if it was set forth in the deed.

Scammers scour the OC recorder's website and glean that info, and make cold calls hoping to scam people.

That or someone's been selling a list of timeshare owners from somewhere.

Just ignore.

Disney has the right to share your info with their business partners like RCI unless you opt out.

Each year with your dues info you are mailed the opt out info.
