Wonder if you could help out??? Being from northern Canada, I am concerned about the heat in California. :cool1:Our trip is booked from July 8 - 16 and was needing tips on keeping cool at the parks. I have read many threads on leaving in the afternoon to take a siesta which we plan on doing but even earlier in the day could be too warm for us. :cool2: We are mainly used of 66 - 77 F and 77F is probably one of our hottest summer days. Any help would be great, or if there is a thread that already exists, if someone could point me in that direction that would be great! Thanks!!

There are days it may get warmer than the mid 80's, take the mid day breaks and hydrate with water when it gets warmer, seek shade, rest.

We are used to the heat, but touring all day in hot weather can still be exhausting. Water rides are always good when you're getting hot. Make sure to get fastpasses early in the day for Grizzly and Splash so you can bypass the long waits when everyone else wants to ride too. Go to an indoor show that has air conditioning: one of the 3D movies (Eo, Muppets, Bugs), Abe Lincoln, the Aladdin show in DCA, the Billies at the Golden Horseshoe. Depending on your interests, the Animation Academy in DCA and Innoventions can be good refuges as well. And, of course, listen to all the PPs who advise you to take an afternoon break and stay hydrated.

Have you ever been to Disney World? If so there is no comparison. Disneyland in the summer is warm to hot, Disneyworld is sweltering.

Mornings and nights are usually rather nice. Midday it can get hot but not unbearable like WDW. As others have said, see the various indoor shows, have lunch or early dinner, go back to hotel and enjoy the pool or take a drive to the beach which is only about 20 miles away.

The humidity is low compared to WDW, the hudity mkaes it sweltering.

There is a thread which exists on this:

Oh my I need to move to Canada, 77 is a hot day, that's like heaven. I live in Las Vegas where it can sometimes get around 125 on a hot day but is usually around 110 for a good part of the summer.

Living with that kind of weather I should be used to the heat but I am actually rather sensitive to it so summer at Disneyland does get to me. Aside from the advice already offered I recommend wearing lightweight and light colored clothes and if anyone has long hair put it up off your neck (hair sticking to a sweaty neck is an awful feeling). I will fully admit that I have gotten too hot before and with no fastpass to a water ride in my possesion I have dumped part of a bottle of water down the back of my shirt to cool me off!
Also for a quick cool off just head into a shop and browse for a few minutes or go to any of the indoor counter service places and get a cool drink and just sit for a few minutes until you cool down a bit (this is not reccomended during peak dining times as others may wrestle you to the ground if you are taking up a table and not eating).
Finally if you are really hot do NOT chug a really cold drink, sip at it and also put the cold cup/bottle against your face and back of your neck.

You may actually enjoy the heat because the evenings are so pleasant...the Dobies love touring the park at 10:30 pm!

Wear a hat, drink lots of water, and plant to spent the hours of 2-5 sipping margaritas by your hotel pool...park? what park?

Over the 4th of July weekend last year the mornings and evenings were cool *as in a sweat shirt, seater or jacket was needed.

Thanks everyone, the tips are greatly appreciated and I agree with the Dobie's, I think we may enjoy the summer heat of California as I don't think summer will ever arrive here! The almighty weather forecasters are predicting 25-30cm(sorry don't know how to convert to inches!) of snow over the next 2 days!!! I am sure counting down now!!!

2.54cm=1 inch, so about 11.8 inches on the high side. Very sorry to hear that.

Jack, you know better than anyone that I am the official mathematician around here. We can't let things get out of control here.
