Hello.... could someone please update me on the situation......I heard that you have to have a ressie to go up to the Grille.......which is fine by me,as hoards of people flocked to see the fireworks and in short made for mayhem up there for the people who did have ressie's....last year we had drinks and appetizers.... will they still allow that or do you have to reserve a table....Thanks! Slinkydog....22 more days till were in the World! :cool1:

You do have to have a PS to go up to CG these days....probably to discourage the hoards. :sunny:

Others have reported that the lights are no longer dimmed nor the music for Wishes piped in. We dined there about a month ago but as is our habit were gone long before Wishes. We go there for the dining experience. ;)

My DH and I have been able to go up to have a cocktail at the bar without a PS since this has come into effect.

That said we were nicely dressed in business casual attire, and were not there 15 minutes before the fireworks.

We also would have had no problem if we had been refused, we would have just headed to Mizners. :)

I think that if there's room at the bar, a well dressed couple will have no problem getting up. Mom and Dad with five kids in park attire will probably be refused.

When we were there in Nov., they were letting folks up for drinks, but it was a pretty slow time. We were there during fireworks, but they didn't pipe in music or dim the lights. We went out on the catwalk thingy, but it was no great shakes....

Still saw plenty of people in park attire even though they told me when I made PS that it was business causual type attire required...........and LOTS of kids.

This past week we went up to CG to watch the fireworks. It was myself and my husband and our 3 children (11,7, and 3yrs.) Yes, you do need to have a PS to get up. Although, we did not, they let us up to order drinks and watch the show in the bar area. We were dressed casually. If your children are fairly we behaved, it's a wonderful experience to enjoy without the crazy crowds in the park. They dimmed the lights and piped the sound/music into the restaurant. We enjoyed it.

Your very recent report is good to hear. It sounds as if the 2nd floor checkin is being used for "horde" control but that the restaurant is as child friendly as ever and that the requested dress has not actually changed other than the term used. :sunny:

I think it is also good that the lights are being dimmed again and the music piped in. With fewer people crammed up there, perhaps peolpe will mind their manners and either remain seated during Wishes or go out on the catwalks. :flower:

I was considering changing my plans to make PS at CG because of the reports that they were no longer dimming the lights or piping in the music during wishes. That was alot of what i was looking forward too (besides the food)....but now with the report from Christine42566 of last week i guess i'll hold off & see if they continue with the lights & music. I wonder why they would have stopped this for a period of time? Any other recent visitors??
