Hi, short time viewer, first time poster.

My girlfriend and I are planning an upcoming trip to WDW in a few weeks. We already have PS for California Grill one night for the Wishes fireworks. My question is...how can I be sure to get a window seat? Should I have requested it when I made the PS arrangements or do I just ask when I get there?

Thanks!!

You can't ensure that you'll get a window seat, in fact, the odds are against it as these seats are in the vast minority and in the greatest demand. You need to make your PS for a resonable time and keep your fingers crossed. Aside from that there is little else you can do...But they do dim the lights and play the music AND the view from out on the ob deck is just as good.

Personally I would never set myself up for this kind of dissappointment (hoping and praying for a table seat) while on vacation (too much stress).

Go and enjoy the CG for its great service, food and ambiance and maybe you'll get lucky with the table but if not don't sweat it and just use the deck.

Thanks! I think we were planning on just walking out to the deck to watch to begin with but would have been happy with a table. Either way, I'm sure it will be great.

Don't bother with the California Grill at all. My bf and I just went and it was horrible....right from the seating to the service to the food. I wrote a review on our entire experience there so you can just look at that if you have any other questions just ask.

If you and your gf want a really good dinner followed by a great spot to view the fireworks I highly recommend Ohana at the Poly. When you are finished eating just walk down to the beach find a couple empty chairs, sit back, relax and you will have the best seat in the house with hardly anyone else on the beach with you!!

We went to CG during our trip in March and it was a mixed experience. The food was wonderful, the service, a bit slack. But the problem was all the people waiting and tense about the window tables. Every one that came in the door wanted a window seat. Some were not happy at being told there was no way. There are people camped at the window tables playing cards. The hostess told us some people come at 5:00 and don't leave.

I would like to go again, but I think I will go on a non Wishes night or early so I don't get in the window seat mayhem. The food was very very good. If you are cool about the window seat thing, go and have some great food!

My husband and I had two wonderful evenings at CG during Christmas week.
The first night, we made a reservation for about 20 minutes before "Wishes". When we arrived, I told the hostess that we wanted to watch the show first and then be seated in The Wine Room.
We had a drink or two, went out on the catwalk (it was FREEZING that night!) to watch "Wishes", and were promptly seated in the Wine Room after.
The second night I made reservations for dessert only and planned it the same way.
We had dinner at Jiko that night, which is now our favorite Disney restaurant.
Our wonderful server at Jiko, Nasser, treated us to dessert...
Pistachio Creme Brulee with Chocolate Bottom!! Yum!

When we arrived at CF, I told the hostess what had happened but said that we would still like to have a few drinks and watch "Wishes" again (it was much warmer out there that night).
It was no problem.
We made friends with the bartender and had a great time there!

Have a fantastic Disney vacation!!
