California Grill Question

So I made a PS for California Grill for our first night at Disney (thank for everyone's advice). Now I have a question. Is there a dress code? We were not planning on bringing anything dressy but if we need to I'll bring it for that. Also I made the PS for 8:00 (fireworks are at 9:00) do you think it's possible to get a window seat? O yeah and one more thing.....Has anyone ever gone there with someone that doesn't care for seafood or wierd dishes? I showed my boyfriend the menu and he just looked at me and asked "Don't they just have a steak?" I saw that the menu changes weekly but now I'm worried that he's not going to eat anything.

The dress ranges from a day at the "park attire" to out on the town dress. And yes, you can order just a steak. They serve a wonderful filet. Service is the best.

Anitad's reply was exactly right. You will see a wide range of dressing styles. And the filet is wonderful!

For a window seat I recommend getting there early and ask for a window seat. You may have to wait or you may not get it. But it is worth a try. You could also call back and ask the CM to put the window request on your PS.

Also, you will still see the fireworks just fine without a window seat...you can walk outside on a special area and watch them. I even prefer to do that!

But, we always dress up a bit because it's such a nice place, and we just feel better.
However, you'll see all types of dress here.........saw a young gal in near formal gown. Turns out her boyfriend had her out celebrating her 21st birthday.

The filet , asmentioned before, is very, very good, and so is the pork tenderloin.
You can't go wrong with either of those.
Save room for dessert.

This is a very nice restaurant and you'll have a great time and experience.

Move your reservation time! I had the same reservation, got there early and was told it would be 45 minutes from my ps time (without any special requests). See if you can get 7pm ps. You might get seated by 8pm (with a request in).

We ended up leaving, watching the fireworks from the poly beach then eating at the cafe in Poly (can't remember the name but the food was great and much more reasonable then CG).

As far as the attire, if your PS is on a Friday or Saturday night -- you are going to find people dressed up. Its a hot spot for locals to entertain on weekends. I would bring a dress and you BF a golf shirt and chinos -- I think you would feel under dressed with wearing what you would wear to the park.

Also, I would push up the PS time to 7PM and request the window table. This way if you have to wait you will be seated before 9PM. If they seat you right at 7PM -- order a cocktail, and enjoy the view, take your time and you will be eating dessert while the MK fireworks are happening.

There sort of is a "dress code." It's something they call "resort casual." I had no idea what this was and they told me no tank tops and no sneakers. Now, I have to say that I did see people with sneakers on, but they were clean. So, maybe it's no dirty sneakers? I don't know. In any event, they may tell you when you make the PS that you can't wear a tank top. It's chilly in there anyway, so I don't know why you'd want to. Just stop off in the gift shop downstairs and buy a nice sweater! You meet the code and have a nice souvenir!

Thanks everyone!!! I just switch my PS to 7:30. I'll just make sure I get there around 7:00...heck we can always have a few drinks before hand! I think I might get a little dressed up that night (nice idea about the gift shop). Why not it's our first night at Disney and I really don't think we are planning on doing much that day because we get in around 1:00. O I'm just so excited to go!!!!
