I am trying to make our PS for our last night and want it to be special. I would like to know what you all would choose to make the last night "magical" between Calif. Grill and Brown Derby. We have two children, dd5 and ds9. Are these choices realistic with kids?? Thanks for any input!! :earseek:

If you can schedule your PS to watch Wishes from the CG most people have magical memories from that experience.

The BD is one of our favorite restaurants but i don't think there is anything magical about it. Just great food and service. But you'll get that at CG with a VIEW.

My 2 cents.

We've never done CG--but we have eaten at Brown Derby...

Hubby's Filet Mignon-- :crazy2: . He has had better Steaks at Texas Roadhouse.

I think you might have better luck with your steak selections at CG.

I'd choose CG and time it w/ Fireworks from MK.
Agree with other, BD doewsn't have much in way of enticing young'uns.

The atmosphere is really nice at CG. We were there last year and although it did not coincide with fireworks, we still really enjoyed walking out on their "terrace" and I have a great picture of my DD looking out their big window at MK castle with the sun going down. Really good food, too.

To me, BD is a lunch thing - great cobb salad. Love the way servers dice it and mix it up for you.

Have a great vacation.

Pam

Our family enjoys both of these restaurants, but if I really wanted a special dinner and had to choose between these two, CG would get the thumbs up.

Are either of these choices realistic with kids? Absolutely! Our DS was 6 when he first ate at both CG and the Brown Derby. He is now 11, and still loves them both.

CG is a little more magical, as it sits up so high and the view is spectacular. Timing your dinner to view the fireworks can make for a really special evening. We have found the wait staff work hard to please children here, and kids can draw on the tables (play tic-tac-toe, hangman, etc) as the tablecloths are topped with white paper. I will never forget our DS's first dinner here... every time our waiter communicated with him, he would kneel next to him so they could talk at eye level. That left an impression on all of us.

I forgot about that as well--BD kids choices are just small versions of fancy adult meals. They looked like something I would order for myself.

Thank you all for helping me make my decision...CG it is. I was able to make a reservation for 50 minutes before the fireworks are scheduled to start. I can't wait!!!
