Has anyone used the California Grill for their reception? We are having a intimate wedding on New Years day and we are wondering if this would be the best choice. Do they do a special menu for your party? Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Yes, many couples have made PS at California Grill for their Intimate wedding reception. You have to order from the CG menu unless you book one of the private rooms (Sonoma or Napa).

Something to keep in mind is that CG is only open for dinner and on some holidays, they offer a prix-fix or "special" menu which is more expensive than their every day menus. You may wish to check around and see if CG has a special New Year's Day menu and you'll want to make reservations as soon as its possible since it's generally pretty crowded at WDW during the holidays.

Good luck!

DD had her reception in the Napa and Sonoma rooms (one for cocktails and one for dinner/dancing). Her FTW planner provided copies of menus (she had a brunch reception after morning wedding at Pavillion) and a few months before the wedding we went in to the CG and had a food tasting so we could choose the approipriate foods/wines. She had a wedding cake topped with white chocolate castle and the chocolate Cinderella slipper filled with mousse. Foods included a goat cheese ravioli, salad, vegetable frittata (like an omelette), shrimp/mushroom risotto, bacon/sausage, roasted chicken and a variety of breads. Children got chicken fingers, pizza, hamburgers, etc. There was also a fruit/cheese platter for the cocktail hour. Quite a beautiful party!

I am too considering the California Grill for our intimate wedding dinner. Our wedding is at 4pm, so after the photos as short reception I thought CG would be the perfect place to go for dinner and watch the fireworks. There will only be four of us for a reservation.

Does anyone know how I would go about contacting the CG about dinner for our wedding??

Lisa if you are planning on eating of the regular menu at the CG you'll just need to make a PS in the usual way at the 90 day mark.

However if you are looking for a set menu or private dinding room then I would suggest you speak to your Intimate SM/EM and see what they suggest.
