California Grill, appies in the Lounge area?

We do not have an ADR for Cali Grill, and I would love to check out the atmosphere. Can one get to the lounge w/out an ADR?

I think we would enjoy the view and maybe some appies and/or flatbread.

You can--if there is room and they will let you up. It's a very small area. In fact, calling it a lounge is a bit of a stretch--it's just maybe 5-6 tables sitting right in the middle of the restaurant.

Best chances are when they open (long before the fireworks) or later, just after the fireworks.

It's not really AT the windows, but you can see out.

It's wide open area, basically a few tables sitting in the middle of a restaurant.

There can be a nice view. Two of the five or six tables in the lounge are right next to windows. We've lucked out and been able to sit at one of those both times we've visited the lounge. We had a nice view of the Electric Water Pageant and the Magic Kingdom's fireworks show on our last visit.

There are about three lounge tables directly beside the windows. I sat at one for three hours once.

I showed up for a drink last Saturday around 9:30: the place was dead. I could have closed out the joint.

Generally if, like me, you don't care about fireworks, you can usually find a space at the bar the later you go.

I agree that it's best to try and go there when they open, so ask one of their Cast Members at their 2nd floor check-in desk if they have room.
