California Grill and Viewing Fireworks

We made a CG reservation for 9pm on this upcoming Saturday (I can't believe we're doing the single digit dance-- 5 days!) If wishes is at 8pm, can we go up to the viewing deck and get a drink and watch? Or are we not allowed up an hour before our reservation?

You can go up early if there's enough room in the lounge. You'll need to ask at the check-in desk. The closer you get to time for the fireworks, the more people there are in the lounge - mostly because those with ADRs close to fireworks time are having to wait until those who are holding their tables to watch the show leave.

Thank you for your quick reply. What time should we get there-- so if they say no, we can make it somewhere else to view the fireworks?

It looks like wishes is at 10pm that night according to the wdw calender.

Contemporary also has a viewing area on the 4th floor (opposite end from Chef Mickey's)

Exit as if you were going to walk over to Bay Lake Towers (which you cannot access without a room key) When you exit the Contemporary you are on a deck that leads to the walk way to bay lake towers .. go to the left ..there is a large area where you can stand and watch the fireworks. Lots of people were out there when we were they 2 weeks ago .. great view of the castle and the fireworks.

PS .. We had ressies at CG for 9 PM, which the fireworks were at 9:30. The place was packed. We were seated at 9 ..but our table did not have a very good view ..in fact when we tried to watch we couldn't see the high ones because they were above the windows from where we were sitting. The lounge was so crowded you couldn't find a spot to stand .. we actually turned around and watched the epcot fire works instead from our table. Great meal, but it's tough to score a table with a great view of the fireworks. There is an outdoor observation deck you can go out to too.
