During our upcoming trip in October we have ADR's for California Grill for 9:25pm. That day the fireworks at MK start at 9pm. If we were to arrive a little early to Cailfornia Grill before the fireworks started and grabbed a drink at the bar before our table is ready, would we be able to see the fireworks from the bar area or would they even let us go out on the observation deck to watch them?

:)Yes, you may arrive early for your dinner and they will take you up early for the firewroks if you ask. You may want to take a light jacket. It can be cool and breezy out on the deck. There is also a fourth floor observation deck. If you earlier in the day you can return that evening with your receipt and they will let you up to Cali Grill for viewing.

I think it would depend on how much capacity is already up on the 15th floor when you check in. You'd have to check in earlier than 9pm to do that, and if the bar area is full, they might not put you on the elevator until it's close to your ADR time.

You may get lucky and get in, but there is always a possibility you might get denied. If you have your heart set on seeing the fireworks, go to the Magic Kingdom on a non-Halloween party night. You'd get a better vantage point just behind the hub on Main Street. California Grill isn't the best place to see them by any means.

I agree with this poster that it really is hit or miss. You might get lucky and get a chance to go up, but you might also get shut out. Your better off trying to get an earlier ADR and returning later in the evening if you want to watch Wishes from up there or try to get an ADR for later and watch Wishes from MK before heading to dinner (the restaurant empties out after Wishes). If you can hold off your meal, your better off seeing if you can get an ADR for slightly later and then walking over to CR after Wishes. If seeing Wishes from CG is a must, keep trying for an earlier ADR, you never know when something might open.
