This a our big anniversary/graduation/birthday celebration trip for dh and I.
I got ADR's at CG on 5/26 at 9:40, hoping to see Wishes.
I am worried we won't get a table in time to be seated and enjoy the show, let alone a window seat.
I hear such good things about the food, but am primarily after the "romance factor". We've never eaten here and I need your help. :confused3
Thanks!

You don't need a table to see the show. You can see it from the observation deck. However, based on your post I would bet that what you really want is to see it from a table. I do not think that can be guaranteed at any time.

The staff knows that most people want to see Wishes. If you're table is not ready by 10, then you can go out on the observation deck to view the show and they won't give your table away. If you don't get a window table, you are free to get up to go watch Wishes and come back. Again, the staff is very well versed on things and they allow people to see the show without worrying about cold food or losing tables.

Just FYI, Cali Grill isn't exactly romantic. It's very loud and boisterous and lots of people bring their children. However, the place does clear out and get quieter after Wishes shows, so you may get a bit of the ambiance you're hoping for. The food is very good though.

Yes, it doesn't matter where you sit. You just go out to the observation deck and watch there. They pipe the music on to the deck too. It's one of the best places to watch the show. The food is great too! Trust me, you'll have a good time. My wife and I went there the two times we went to Disney and it still is one of our favorite restaurants.

Yeah, I was doubtful about the romance, of course, after 16 years, romance is kind of hit or miss some days!
We are eating at AP for our "exact" anniversary. I really love to try new foods and as long as DH has a steak, he's fine. We live in a rural area and "fine dining" has kind of passed our area by...........

You can always try to get there a little early and see if you can get a table. We had ADR's for 9:10 pm two weeks ago on a Saturday night (Wishes was set for 10 pm). We got to the podium at 8:40 and were seated by 8:50. Most people do indeed go to the Observation Deck for the fireworks. We've never had a late ADR like this at Cali Grill so weren't sure of what to expect. It was indeed a loud restaurant, but the food is fantastic and the overall experience is what makes this a signature restaurant. You will love your time there!

Let me start by saying that we love the California Grill and we go there every trip. However, there is no way that you definitely get a table against the window. There are many others that are trying to do the same thing. Also depending on what table you are seated in, you may not have a great, direct view of Wishes. It would probably be easier to go and watch the fireworks from the observation deck if you don't get a "golden table". Have a great vacation!
