California Dreamin' World Series -- Angels vs. Giants

Well, I'm very sad that our STL Cardinals just lost, but the Giants certainly earned their spot in the World Series.

yeah giants. When I turned on the TV at the top of the 8th to see the giants down 1 to 0 I thought they were doomed to game 6 but...the last moment of the bottom of the 9th they pulled through.

Since my Yankees were knocked out of the playoffs.. my next selectiond minnesota and St Louis wre then knocked off.. now I have to choose between two California teams.. well since I am AL fan I have to root for the Halos...

After the Braves lost, I have to admit I was hoping for a "midwestern series" -- the near-victims-of-contraction Twins vs. my nephew's favorite team the Cardinals. Of course, a "California Dreaming" series between two wild card teams, first-timers Angels and the Giants (and Barry Bonds' first WS) should be a good one.

I gotta say GO GIANTS in this one. Not only am I'm more of a NL fan, but (no offense to Angels fans) I can't see myself pulling for a team that has a "rally monkey".

Here in MN, we were trying to figure out what "critter" we could have for rallying that could be as annoying as the rally monkey. We decided a "rally mosquito" would be good. A BUUUZZZZZing sound flooding the dome would be sure to drive the opposing pitcher up the wall!!!

WHEW!! The Giants certainly kept us on the edge of our seats the past two games! Since the WS is played in mid-to-late October now, at least it'll be played in California where there's a chance of decent weather! It gets mighty cold at PacBell in the evening, though!
(I was thinking how boring this series must be to those in the rest of the country - it's close to a dream-come-true for those of us in the Bay Area - if only the A's were there again, we'd have another Bay Bridge series!)

As a HUGE Twins fan I can't believe how easily I've been able to be happy for the Angels! After briefly thinking that I might be maturing, I've come to suspect that it must be THE MONKEY!

For Donnie Moore, for Nolan Ryan, for Sandy Alomar SENIOR, for Bo Belinsky and for Ban Johnson.... GO ANGELS!

Yeah, but look what happened the last Bay Bridge Series, an earthquake!!!!! Besides, it is much easier to dislike teams from Southern California

Take a little bit of monkey business, and add a singing cowboy looking down from above. Mix in a group of guys who won't ever give up and put the whole thing in the hands of a manager who came up through a great baseball organization. That's the reason the Giants will be lucky to even win a single game.
