California DIS-ers - WIN a DLH Stay-Character Meal-Park Hoppers - CONGRATS, NANSEEV!!

Okay, everyone. Those of you in California (and that includes all of California) may recall the win-a-trip-to-Disneyland contest put on by my local Fox morning news (Good Day L.A.) towards the end of last year. It was a sports trivia challenge done on the Fox show "Extra Innings," and the prize was four 2-day DLR park hoppers, a stay at one of the DLR hotels AND a character meal for four people.

Well, here we go again! There is another sports trivia/DLR contest giving away four 2-day Park Hoppers, a DLR hotel stay and a character meal for four, and it started on April 25th with Round 1, which has now ended!! Round 2 (the final round) began yesterday, Saturday, May 23, 2009, and the trivia question was open for answers until 11:59 p.m., at which time it closed for submissions!!! The contest has now ended.

ETA: CONTEST IS NOW OVER! Winner's name will be drawn on Tuesday, May 26th and the winner will be notified via e-mail on Tuesday, June 2!!

Just now? Maybe it is finally up now. Submission definitely did not do anything other than give me the times it was open for submission. I will try again!

There must be LOTS of people entering this time. I don't recall having this kind of trouble getting to the darn form to submit my entry with the contest last fall/winter!

Anyway, I went back to Submission, I clicked. Got nothing. It gave me the times again. I clicked Refresh. Nothing. I clicked Refresh again, and FINALLY I got to the form to fill out. I filled it all out with the answer to the question, and I clicked Submit. The little bar looked like it was moving, but it stopped. Just locked up. I never saw a confirmation that my submission was received because it locked up before it transmitted! Then I opened a separate window, went back to the MyFoxLA site and got to Submission again, and entered the info again, and clicked submit. It told me there was a problem because I had already made one submission for that contest!!!! Arrrrgggghhhh! So the first submission I made that locked up must have been read as received - whether or not it was, I have no clue. Wow, this was a pain in the butt! The last contest did not cause this many problems, so a bunch of folks must have been going on at the same time!

I just did it and it worked. I entered myself and DBF. The question takes some googling if you're not a baseball fan.

Oh I know NOTHING about sports trivia at all, Courtney! What I did was copy the question from the form and paste it in Search on Yahoo and up came the answer a few listings down! Thank God for the Internet! (Although Kerri may have known the answer because she is a sports fan!) I just hope my submission actually went through even though it didn't appear to go through! It looks like they won't do the drawing until this coming Tuesday, and then it said that the winner won't be notified (via e-mail) until the "Tuesday AFTER the drawing" - so I guess that means the winner won't get the winning notification e-mail until May 5th?

And for pete's sake - Mike (Pooh'sTwin), if you are out there somewhere (and you can't enter this contest because you won the last one within 12 months), you have to let us know about the DLR trip you took when you WON! HOW WAS IT??? How was the DLH? How was Goofy's Kitchen? Did your friends have a great time too? You must tell all!!

Good luck everyone! In the last Sports Trivia Contest that took place late last year by Fox, two out of the three weeks of questions were won by DIS-ers!!! Pooh'sTwin (Mike) won first and then I think it was Wendi2000? We never found out who won the third round. So we have a good chance of someone from DIS winning!

Round 1 of this contest ends at 11:59 p.m. tonight, and Round 2 will not be until May. If anyone from DIS wins, make sure to let us know! Fox should be sending out the notification sometime between this coming Tuesday and the following Tuesday.

You know, somewhere in the back of my mind I was thinking that May 23rd was going to be a day that was bad for either you or Jasmine to enter the contest because someone would be away at that time - I know May is a big month for DLR trips for you, Jas and Courtney. I guess it was you who I was thinking of! If they would only put up the contest/trivia info early on the 23rd, you could enter before you left, but if they do it like they did this past weekend, the info won't be up and ready to answer until after 3:00 p.m.! Well, hopefully there will be another contest during the summer or around the holidays!

Everybody remember to check your e-mails this week to see if you won the first contest!! The drawing for the winner is today, and in the explanation of the contest it said that the winner 'will be notified on the Tuesday following the drawing.' Well, I ASSUMED they meant the winner will notified NEXT Tuesday, May 5th, BUT I would start checking later today and during this whole week just to be sure. During the contest Fox had last year around the holidays, they did the drawing on a Monday, and they mailed out the notifications via snail mail on Tuesday and people received them on Wednesday or Thursday. Because the process of looking over the forms and getting the forms back to Fox, choosing the dates you are going, talking to Disney and sorting through the red tape takes a little time, apparently, they probably want to expedite the whole thing. So I would assume they switched to e-mail this time so it would be a faster process, and it seems odd that they would wait an entire week to notify winners. That would only slow things down.

So I say, start checking your e-mail TODAY and please keep us posted if you are the winner!!
