Hi

We are doing calif grill when we go down in May and I want to try to plan it so we are there for dinner and ending up our dinner right around fireworks time so we can step outside to see them....so for anyone who has dined there before...what time should I aim for, for a ressie? I know many suggest making a ressie for during the fireworks but.... we have 2 kiddos eating with us so i just don't want to make the ressie too late because i know they won't make it lol

thanks !

Hi,

The first step is to find out what time Wishes is scheduled on the night you will be at CG.

Bob is correct. You need to find out the Wishes time. Also it doesn't matter what time you eat there. You are allowed to go back to the resturant to watch it.

A meal at Cali Grill takes 1.5-2 hours usually, so I would take the Wishes time and subtract that if you want to time it. However, if you are still eating when Wishes comes on, you can definitely step outside to watch and them come back. We have timed it where we had just finished dinner and stepped out for the fireworks, and came back in and had dessert. That was nice!

Sorry should have mentioned that wishes is at 9 the night we go. I have booked a 6pm right now but as of just a few hours ago they had many other openings leading up to 9pm so I can call back.... I am thinking maybe I should lean more towards a 7:30 slot..... thanks all for your input !!

I wouldn't sweat it too much. It is perfectly acceptable to leave your table to go outside and watch the show. The wait staff is accustomed to it and won't clear off the table and give your table away or anything. The worst thing that may happen is that your dinner may get cold or something. We've found that they generally time serving courses around the fireworks very nicely. We've returned from watching the fireworks to find hot plate of food waiting for us or dessert and coffee waiting for us.

Another thing you can do is plan an earlier dinner and then go down to the shops in the Contemporary until time for the fireworks and then return. As long as you have eaten in the CG at some point during that day (even for lunch) you can return for the fireworks.
