I have a couple of questions as I have never personally booked an ADR here...why does it ask for your credit card if it says you will not be charged at this time?? We will be on the DDP (regular- so using 2 credits) so we won't be paying with a credit card anyways...just wondering if anyone knows why. Also, is Cali Grill the only signature that does this? I have never had to do this for HBD...just wondering if anyone knows of 2TS places that do NOT do this when you make the ADR.

Also, since we will be using 2 TS credits on the DDP, will we get an appetizer, entree, and dessert, or just an entree and dessert like usual? TIA :goodvibes

There are a few sought after restaurants that require a credit card on file. Your card will only be charged if you cancel without proper notification.

Yes, there are tables at Narcoossee's that provide a view of Wishes. However, what usually ends up happening is that people go out on the veranda and block the view of those dining inside. It's also just a bit too light inside to have a really good view IMO. We enjoyed watching Wishes from the dock just beyond the restaurant.

Thanks! Do you happen to know what is included in the meal at Cali Grill or Narcoosee's when you are on the regular DDP but are still using 2 credits?

Even though you're using 2 credits at the signatures, you still only get an entree and dessert with the regular dining plan. The only exception to that, that I'm aware of, is Artist Point. They give you a side item with your entree as well as dessert.

We ate at the Cali Grill last May on the DDP. Like juliemcalister mentioned, the credit card guarantee seems to prevent people from cancelling without adequate notice. Just make sure if you do have to cancel that you give them the required notice.

And I can confirm that you still only get an entree, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage eventhough it is 2TS. Go for a virgin pina colada or daquiri.

Enjoy!

The credit card is for a no-show guarantee. It is supposed to be done for all CG guests, dining plan or no dining plan. If you do not cancel within the prescribed time (I believe it is 24 hours) and don't show up for your reservation, you'll be charged $20 per person as a no-show fee. Yes, California Grill is the only signature that does this.

It's not done because it's such a popular place. It was instituted because back when they closed off CG to the general public because too many people were coming up just to watch the fireworks, they required guests to have a reservation for the restaurant to go up to the 15th floor where the restaurant is (yes, they will still seat walkups IF there is room). They apparently had problems with people booking reservations just to get upstairs to watch the fireworks, then leaving without ordering anything.

No appetizer for adults at CG (or other signatures) on the regular dining plan. Only the deluxe plan includes the appetizers.
