Would you make a reservation at Cali Grill with small children (3, 5 and 11) or is that just crazy? It would be day of arrival with no park attendance just some pool time and R&R before.

You're the best judge of your children, but keep in mind that CG is a very up-scale place and it will take ~2 hours for your meal. Will your children be happy sitting still that long? If not, you might be better off with Chef Mickey's.

It's been our experience at the signature restaurants that meals with kids have been paced more quickly than meals without kids.

We've gone to CG with our kids (4,5,7 at the time) and they loved it. Make sure to take them out on the observation deck in between courses or at the end of the meal. The view of MK is amazing.

We ate there with our 4, 6 and 8 year olds and they loved it. We brought coloring books and crayons for them to use. We also had them bring their journal notebooks and wrote about what they had done on their vacation. The food was excellent. The kids enjoyed their dinner as did the adults. I highly recommend going! :)

Thank you for the replies. I think the kids will probably be okay, besides the grown ups deserve one meal that's geared more towards them.

Please do not take this the wrong way because it is meant positively for your situation.

I thought the California Grill was going to be a nice adult experience. There were a lot of kids there. Well behaved kids but more than I thought.

So, are you going to feel strange? No. Take your kids and enjoy.
