Hey everyone
I have one dinner spot that I am trying to fill and I have never been to either of these 2 restaurants before. My aunt LOVES The Wave and went twice on her last trip and told me I need to go, but I have also read some awesome reviews about Cali Grill and I have always wanted to try it....so any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated
Thanks :-)

Cali hands down. Two great restaurants in totally different leagues. Book a table 30 minutes prior to MK fireworks.

Enjoy

If you've never done CG then you should try it. It's definitely worth going at least once. More high end food than the Wave. The view especially if you will be there at all for the fireworks is worth it.

You'll find lots of Cali Grill fans, but we're not among them. It was alright, but not something I'd ever repeat unless I had money to burn. If you're on the Dining Plan, Cali Grill is 2 Table Service...and frankly, we did not think it was worth it (and would not have paid cash for it, either.) Was mostly good food, yes, but no way was it worth double the value of the one table service places. The view is only good if you're there when it's completely cloudy or after dark...otherwise they have the blinds down so you can't see anything. Would not take a small child there (although many people do) - took nearly two hours to eat and that was with no appetizers or before dinner drinks...just takes forever for everything.

The Wave, on the other hand...we loved. Well worth the one table service. Upscale decor without being stuffy...lots of kids there. And you'll get served in an hour or less.

Cali Grill 2 tb service
The Wave 1 tbs service

Both are great but hard to compare in my opinion cause it's like different dinning.

Cali Grill- Great food, great atmosphere, great service & an Awesome view of the world.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The Wave- good food & service and a nice atmosphere.:thumbsup2

No ? if I had to pick one it would be CALI GRILL:thumbsup2

California Grill for sure!!!

You are there longer because it is more of an upscale dining experience. It is worth the 2TS credits (IMO) because of the quality of the food, type of food and the views. When having a meal like that I would plan on it taking longer than a meal at a restaurant like the Wave. If you go, try to plan it around Wishes, that is very memorable.

I've got to agree with the majority of posters... California Grill. (It's not even close, actually.)

I will say that I'm probably alone in thinking that Wishes viewing at CG is completely over-rated, but the food/service is usually very good. My experience with the Wave has been a solid "okay," nothing more.

We had to make this choice on our upcoming trip (leave tomorrow )and we chose The Wave. We went to both last year. California Grill is fine and has a nice view, but frankly they aren't able to pull off the kind of food they are trying to do. The Wave isn't as fancy of a place as we thought, but they do a good job on the food.

I'd say, if you are looking for a dressy event, want a good view and aren't too picky about food then go to CG. If you are interested in local, organic and sustainable food experiences that are different than the usual Disney fare then go to The Wave.

Just one more opinion from a SF Bay Area food snob!

Our last experience at Cali Grill was disappointing...... while our server was very nice, we felt quite rushed..... the food was fine, but not worth the price. Luckily we got seated in the wine room, so the noise wasn't as much of an issue as it is in the main dining room. The meal was just not worth the price (or credits) in my opinion.

That is a tough choice because we love them both...they have excellent food and service but Cali Grill has the killer atmosphere. We had drinks, appies, entrees and desserts at both and with the TIW card the bill was just a $40 difference.

No contest - Cali Grill. Go around wishes, it is memorable. Cali Grill has some of the best sushi you'll ever have! Their dining menu is great too. You'll have a hard time picking!
