Cali Grill and Fireworks

I booked our 20th Anniversary dinner at Cali Grill for 6pm, because fireworks are at 8. But silly me forgot to check on daylight savings changes. They are moving fireworks back to 9pm the day before our dinner. I know we can go up and enjoy the fireworks on the balcony after, but we had intended to try and get a view from the tables. Is 3 hours before WAAAY to long to expect to still be inside the restaurant for fireworks? I mean, I don’t know about finishing eating at 8 and hanging out around for an hour…then go back up? Ugh.

We 4 adults went in Feb.2022...I made our adr for 6pm...and it worked out fine....it was absolutely an awesome dinner(service) and fireworks event...I was leary with pre fixed menu but like I said it was great...the room was full...

The fireworks were at 8pm though right?

Not to sidetrack Aela's original question, but rather than start a new thread, I have a question about having a reservation after the start of the fireworks.

We have a reservation for 9:20 on a night when the MK closes at 9 PM. Can we get to the restaurant, say half-an-hour to an hour before our reservation and still go somewhere to watch the fireworks?

Did you ever find out the answer to this question? I'm wondering if a reservation at 9:40 will work to watch the fireworks at 9p.

Not sure you have been there before but most tables don't really have a view. We've been lucky to get a window seat that looks at MK ONCE and all other times we could not see from our seats and had to walk out on the balcony.

I'm sorry, I don't think I ever did get an answer to this question. And I ended up cancelling the California Grill reservation because I was able to get a different reservation that we wanted that conflicted with this one.

I cannot speak from personal experience but I have read on the boards in the past that if you have a dinner reservation at CG that they will allow you to use the viewing area that night, whether or not you have been seated yet or were seated previously and had left. You could try calling the Contemporary Resort ( (407) 824-1000 ) and ask to be transferred to CG.

I would say 1.5 to 2 hours before fireworks you’d still be at your table depending on drinking and how fast you eat
