Cakes and Napoleons and F&W, oh my! Planning our Disney wedding!! UPDATED 9/15!!!

What an awesomely detailed update Sara! :thumbsup2 Wow, it sounded like an amazing day of planning and eating.

Love the "No re-enacting Say Anything on the buses" line. :lmao:

It sounds like the planning went very well...AND was fun.

The other guests at the GFC should just keep to their own business! You are entitled to a little extra special treatment. After all you are the bride!!!

Love the array of napkins! I am not sure what I would have picked... probably a simple one. ::yes::

All the food samples must have been a lot to take in. Sounds like you were able to make your picks though.

I hate that line at Maelstrom. It is sooooo boring.

Love your pictures of Journey to imagination!

Sounds like a completely awesome and fun experience for the planning session and the food tasting! Heck, I would gladly serve my guests Mickey waffles for dinner.

Ha! For the first time, we had to wait more than 2 minute for Malestrom last time and I finally noticed the map on the wall and some of the other details. I love that ride!

You started your day with one of my favorite breakfast locations! I love that they gifted you with mimosas!!! ;)

vitamin C and your vitamin alcohol...TRUTH! ;) OMG, I might have died if everyone was thinking we took the roses from the table! That is hilarious! :rotfl2:

Sounds like a perfect day of planning, totally makes me want to get married at Disney, even though I already am! Oh wait, maybe we could do a 25 year Anniversary renewing vows, that's just 3ish years away! ;)

Your wedding planning is going awesome!
Makes me want to renew my vows in disney soon!!! It's so beautiful!

My son LOVES figment! LOL We have the big stuffed figment, and he sleeps with him nightly :)

Can't wait to see your engagement photos!

Loved this update! It sound like they really made the planning as stress free and fun as possible. That tasting sounds like heaven! Thanks for all the great details of how everything works.

Love that you named your planner Franc. :goodvibes

Ahhh Wedding planning!! So fun! We did a brunch wedding as well, and had Mickey waffles. It was amazing. I loved all of the brunch wedding food, and because Disney was so amazing, I was relaxed on my wedding day and I got to enjoy all of the food! Eek, I'm getting so excited!

GFC is great as well, how sweet of them to bring you flowers and mimosas!

It sounds as if Disney has this whole wedding planning down to a science. I mean, seriously, where else would 4 hours of wedding planning not seem like 4 hours? The dinner tasting sounds delicious!

Vitamin alcohol = why Disney is so fabulous! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

When you do your tasting/planning session, do you have to make decisions right there or are you given time to think/discuss afterwards?

I could totally live on the Boardwalk. We'd be neighbors! :goodvibes

:woohoo: for photo session at Epcot!

Disney is so cool, they seem to make the planning care free and fun. So amazing, congrats again and thanks for all the details:goodvibes
P.S. I would have had to say something smart for everyone to hear like "these roses are sooo much better than the carnations at Kona" :rotfl2:

I can't believe you actually select how the napkin is folded. :rotfl:

So the food was amazing. I can't wait to hear about what you picked. I'm sure everything is amazing.

I love that you started your day at one of your breakfast places. Your meals look delicious.

Your wedding planner sounds wonderful. What a fabulous experience.

Awesome update! All the planning and tasting sessions sounded like fun! Did you have to make your decisions right then or do you call them later? Do we get to know what you chose, or do we have to wait? popcorn::

Sounds like the wedding preperations came along really well. I would've been intimidated by the prospect of a 4 hour planning session plus a menu tasting. But as usual, Disney seems to have handled everything really well, and it seems like you and DF were able to enjoy the moment. That's an exciting time, as is, and it must have been extra special to have that Disney atmosphere around you, and be able to see the exact location of your wedding ceremony. :goodvibes

Your breakfast at the GF Cafe sounds great. It's awesome that they brought you mimosas and roses, although I would probably have been like you and have been conscious of all the other guests staring at said roses while you were leaving. :rotfl2:

How lovely to have mimosas with your breakfast ala Disney... & roses;) that's too funny about people looking... I would have disliked that part too... but then again I'm also also neurotic using fast passes while the people in the standby lines look at you like you are a criminal...:confused3...:lmao:

Disney cake & Disney napkins... wow how much fun can Wedding Planning get?:goodvibes:goodvibes

I saw someone getting married in that pavilion... so pretty...:goodvibes

It's going to be so awesome...pixiedust:

catching up !! Loving your last update !! LOL on the Say Anything reference. What a complete dream to be married at Disney. You are the luckiest person alive. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I can't wait to see the next update !!

I have been hearing so many good things about the Grand Floridian Cafe lately! I am really dying to try it now.

I am loving reading all about the wedding planning! I also love your giant orange binder. It's great to see how these things come together... it seems so easy with Disney! I hate when I see brides freaking out over their wedding like it's the most stressful thing in the world.

"I really don’t see a valid reason why I can’t live here." SAME

Well, add Mickey Waffles to the list of things I need to have at my wedding. HOW did I not think of this before?

Whatever, Disney. I am totally going to re-enact Say Anything on the bus next time and there's not really much you can do about that.

I am finally all caught up and totally loving every detail. I love all the wedding planning stuff! And of course you'd have an Epcot one! The place where you are having your ceremony looks beautiful!!!!

Of course they had a plethora of muppet hats. Of course. Isn't that always the way?

The food tasting sounds so good! And I totally love that they incorporated the father of the bride. "Frahnk" as I would phonetically pronounce it.

How awesome that you now have APs and a TIW card! Sweet!

You left us hanging on what you chose! A Disney wedding seems so awesome.

Jill in CO

Hahaha we haven't made our final decisions yet!! That'll be decided more in the months to come.

Reading about all your planning experiences is seriously making me want to go back in time and have a Disney wedding instead! And what a lovely breakfast!

It is a really fun thing to plan! Yes, it was a great breakfast!

Seriously? That's kind-of awesome. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you had a very productive and tasty day!

Isn't it?? I thought that was cool!

Thanks!!

So cool! Thanks for the inside peek at wedding planning at WDW. So much to comment on... in random order:

Mickey waffles don't qualify as a formal dinner entree? ;)

What napkin fold did you select???

I think the manager at the GF gave you the best dietary advice I've ever heard... definitely can't get enough vitamin C or vitamin alcohol.

Love that you leave towel animals for housekeeping. SO cute! And I totally got that it was a rose. ET wouldn't have entered into my head until you said it. :upsidedow

Your wedding is going to be so beautiful!!! :goodvibes

Haha I think they should!

The napkin we chose wasn't one of the standard "stiffer" ones that could hold the folds like the ones I had the pictures of. So it'll just be a more flat fold! :goodvibes

Hahaha agreed!! :thumbsup2

Yay! Glad someone else was able to see it!!

Aww thank you!!! :goodvibes

What a lovely day of wedding planning...sounds like things are coming together beautifully! The devil is in the details....so, what napkin fold did you guys choose? :rotfl:

It really was a great day!!

Hahah your towel creation looks like a lollipop to me!

Vitamin Alcohol. :lmao: That's hilarious.

"I really don't see a valid reason why I can't live here."
AMEN, SISTER.

Your wedding sounds like it will be incredible, seriously. Amazing!! :goodvibes

Hahahaha now that you say it, I see the lollipop!

 I thought that was good advice!

Thank you!! :goodvibes

First thing that came to my mind, as well. :)

Looks like an exciting time as you were treated in such a special way at a special time in your life. Your wedding will be beautiful, and you guys seem absolutely perfect for each other!

Hahaha I didn't see the lollipop before, but now I do!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Everything looks great!

Sea Breeze is the most beautiful place.

We had our Honeymoon portraits taken in the Magic Kingdom. I really enjoyed having pictures from the park. :)

Thanks!!! It really is such a beautiful venue!

Oh how fun!!! That must be such a special experience! :goodvibes

Ooooh, this all looks so fun! Nice perks at the GF breakfast!
Franck's - I LOVE IT!!!

I had to LOL at the napkin fold choices - wow, they DO cover every detail!

I'm curious too as to what you selected - did you have to choose the menu right then or did you have time after?
A brunch could DEFINITELY have Mickey Waffles!

I remember seeing a wedding, or maybe just after the wedding at Sea Breeze Point once. Such a pretty venue.

Haha it was really nice of them!!

Yes, they definitely do!! No detail goes overlooked at Disney! No, we just have a rough sketch of the menu at the moment, it will get more definite in the upcoming months.

It is, I'm so excited about getting married there! :goodvibes

What an awesomely detailed update Sara! :thumbsup2 Wow, it sounded like an amazing day of planning and eating.

Love the "No re-enacting Say Anything on the buses" line. :lmao:

Haha thanks!! It really was an awesome day!!

 What is a TR without the occasional 80's reference??

It sounds like the planning went very well...AND was fun.

Love your pictures of Journey to imagination!

It did!! And it was!!

Hahaha they definitely made us feel pretty awkward! But oh well, we had too much fun that day to worry about that!

It was really cool to see all of the different napkins! The food samples were fun!

It is a very boring queue! The map was interesting for a few minutes, but other than that, well, I resorted to taking random pictures!

Sounds like a completely awesome and fun experience for the planning session and the food tasting! Heck, I would gladly serve my guests Mickey waffles for dinner.

It really was!! Hahaha I think I would too! :thumbsup2

I had never noticed the map before then either!

Yes, I know you enjoy it there too!! It was very nice of them! :goodvibes
