How does anyone feel about getting a great magical 'fake' cake and then giving individual cakes to the guest? I want a big beautiful styrofoam cake so that I can 1.)take it home and use it as a decoration for our home reception and 2.) Have a great Disney-esque cake that i might not be able to afford if it was real. My husband (this would be a VR) thinks it is a waste of money,

There is very little difference between the cost of an edible cake, and a dummy cake. All cake pricing is based on the amount of labor hours it takes to create the requested design. The actual food cost is secondary.

Trying to transport a fake cake is quite a challenge. A fake cake is decorated with the same materials used in a real cake, sugar decor and flowers, fondant icing, so it is very fragile. And try and get a 4 foot tall cake past airport security:rotfl:

If you want to do the dummy cake and real mini cakes, expect the same price for your dummy cake as a real cake, and add the additional $15-$22 per person for the mini's.
