Part 7 -Saturday, July 31, 2004 –MGM

Now by the time we left GF it was probably about 5:30-6:00. Once we got to MGM, we were on a mission…to ride Rock n Roller Coaster. So we speed on over to that section of the park only to find a 90 minute wait for RnR. We weren’t willing to wait that long, so we headed to Tower of Terror. On our last trip, we had only spent a half a day at MGM and did not make it to this part of the park, so we were RnR & ToT virgins. The wait time posted was 13 minutes. So me, Suzanne and Andrew decided to try it. The others have motion sickness issues, so they were waiting for us in the gift shop. Well, obviously the wait time was not the actual wait time. As soon as we got in line, fifty million people decided to use the fast pass return…it was wild…there was literally a flood of people into the fast pass line. It took us about an hour to get on the attraction. Andrew was scared silly. We were seated on the front row. He was between me & Suzanne with an arm hooked through our arms, holding on for dear life. We were on the ride with some lovely folks that were obviously regulars, and were screaming just for the heck of it…this did wonders for poor Andrew’s confidence in doing this ride. But, we were past the point of no return so off we went dropping, dropping, going up again dropping…. When we got off, we all agreed it was a lot of fun, and it became Andrew’s FAVORITE ride. I found Chris in the gift shop at the exit with a HUGE grin on his face. He said, “See anything new?”. This could only mean that he had scored a coveted lanyard pin. He had…the Pirate Coin with Mickey on it. This was the one lanyard series of pins that we wanted to collect this trip. Other than that, I told Chris that he could trade all of our 65 trading pins for whatever he wanted. (We had that many to play with because we had bought a whole bunch of them when the Disney Store was closing down their pin racks.) Well, that made his day. It was now about 7:15, so we decided to head over to our PS’s at Hollywood and
Vine for a 7:30 Fantasmic! Dinner Package. We get to the podium, I tell the very nice CM who we are & what time our PS was for…well she politely responds that she does not have a PS for us. I pull out my handy dandy itinerary from concierge….UH-OH! ….our PS was for 7:00pm! They were generous enough to “fit” us in. Once inside, no one was really hungry (all were still full from afternoon tea). We had a very nice CM waiting on us…an older woman who ended up not charging us for Chris (he literally ate one roll) which I thought was very generous. I am used to paying a buffet price for him even though he usually does not eat anything on a buffet. She told us we really needed to finish up and head to the Fantasmic! reserved seating area before they shut the gate on us. So, we rushed out of there (I hope we got the cash straight….and left the big tip that I intended to leave.) Fantasmic! was as WONDERFUL as ever. It is still one of my favorite shows. Oh well off to bed…by the way MGM was EXTREMELY crowded due to the ESPN anniversary weekend being held there.

Part 8

Did you score any 'mints' at Hollywood and Vine? Yumbo!

I am SO glad Andrew liked ToT! This is one of our favorite rides and makes for a GREAT photo!! We request the front row, just for the pic! Sorry about those screaming regulars. That would have been us. :hyper:
