Two weeks till we go to DLP for the first time (me, DH and DS 5 ). I've learnt so much from reading threads in this Forum- I almost feel like I know my way around already! Thankyou all so much!
I want to book a meal at Cafe Mickey it sounds great- can I pick your expert brains - is there a time which is best regarding character interaction, service etc-breakfast, lunch or an early dinner, what do you suggest? Thanks

Hi there,

We love Cafe Mickey!!!:cheer2:

We always have lunch there on our last day and it's always great! You won't have to book a meal with the characters, they will just come to your table to say hello at no cost. My girls love it!

Have a great time!

hi

Last time we went to DLRP,we booked a table for 6.15pm, and got an upstairs table right by the window :thumbsup2

characters started coming round at around 6.30pm and as it was pretty quiet at first we had lots of characters " to ourselves", which our 2 sons thought was fab! :cool1:

there was lots of interaction, although they do leave you alone if you want to eat in peace lol

we have only been the once,so I cannot comment on breakfast or luch times i'm afraid

I would definately recommened this place, we had a booking at 6.30pm but arrived aabout 6.10pm was seated downstairs and within 2 mins of taking our coats off captain hook had appeared and threw my hat on the floor.
We had fantastic interaction and practically got no eating done.

Im going back here in my trip in September, the food was not quite to my taste, but would pay again for fab interaction :)

Hi,
We've sat upstairs and down at various times.
I find breakfasts very chaotic, I put this down to people going up and down to the buffets, characters being held up by kids wandering around, so whilst it is a nice way to start the day, I tend to recommend the evening. We've always had good experiences late afternoon/early evening. :)

That's helped me make up my mind -early evening it is then- thanks eveyone!

I actually booked 2 weeks in advance but this was back in January during low season.

You can book upto 60 days in advance so i would do that to be sure you will get a table :)

We have eaten there at 7.45 at night (very very busy) and at mid-day. The character interaction at mid-day was great and the meal and organisation was better as well.

Hiya,
we also did a 6.15 booking - quite quiet and characters came round twice in the hour we were there.

I always make a visit each trip. I always get seated upstairs as there is only ever me and 1 other...lol!

The best advice is to make plenty of time for it and you can get 2 rounds of characters in......

Enjoy it.

We have always gone for about 6ish and the charater interaction is great. We have gone into cafe mickey and booked on the first day we arrived at DLP for another day in the week. They give you a slip of paper showing the day and time of booking which you just hand in when you go.

Have a fabulous trip

Lisa

We went for dinner on the last night of our stay. We booked for 6.30 and were shown to our table immediately. There were not many in at that time so the character interaction was fabulous. The whole meal took about 2hours and we did not feel rushed at any point. The children had a brilliant time. We booked it at City Hall on the first morning of our 4 day stay. You will love it:thumbsup2

Cafe Mickey was amazing when I was there i even had a dance with mickey mouse who later smacked me in the head with his ear :-S was great fun!

we went on a sat night about 8:00pm in November - the interaction at cafe mickey was pretty much the best that i have ever sen and the dancing was amazing!

have fun!
