Cafe Mickey - Best times for dinner?

Hi,
I was thinking of taking my daughter and husband here for the character dinner. I've only ever had a character breakfast here and was wondering what other's experences of the character dinner were? (i really enjoyed the breakfast)
I was leaning towards dinner at 6.30/7ish as the parks close at 6pm in January.
Anyone got any insider tips about the best time for characters...
I'm also going to book the Lucky nugget for a character lunch as we loved that last year

The both times we went, we were there at 6 pm when it opened ... or was it 6.15?! I think it was 6.15. Minnie & Mickey started doing their rounds about 5 mins after we arrived, which was great, as it was still quite quiet and they didn't have to rush off to other tables. We were there till about 8.30 or thereabouts. Really took our time to eat and they didn't rush us either (can't be helped really as the characters kept interrupting our dinner ). Mickey came to our table 3 times during the time we were there and each time interacted with DS more as he was sitting on the outside and DS loved it (I'm guessing they were 3 different people under that costume lol).

we booked for 6.30pm on our last visit ( july 07)
it was an ideal time,as quiet when we arrived ,we were upstairs by the window,only one other table occupied

characters started coming round almost straight away, and we had them to ourselves for a good while

when we left it was very busy ! so glad we went early
