We're on the 4 day Wonder next week.Am considering Cable Beach for the family (4 kids 8,9,13,and 17) Thinking about taking the public bus system but not if it's a hassle. What is there to do there? Or would you vote for staying on board that day? TIA

We are Cruising in February and plan on going to the Wyndham Resort. They let you use all their facilities for free there. They have a Casino, pool w/a slide and beach. That's what I suggest doing. The buses stop right in front of there or you can take a taxi. :earboy2:

does anyone know if you can rent waverunners on cable beach? I dont want to book the excursion on cc but just curious if we wanted to do it on cable beach if its availlable??

There are vendors on the beach that rent all of the usual toys...wave runners, pedal bike boats, banana boat rides, etc. The prices are usually pretty reasonable.

When we were in Nassau we spent a couple hours sightseeing the historical landmarks, a couple hours at Cable Beach, and then a couple more shopping before going back to our ship. Being our first time to Nassau we wanted to try to fit it all in. Knowing what we know now, and seeing what we did, I'd recommend skipping the historical stuff as well as the shopping. I'd spend a few hours at Cable Beach and then go back to the ship.

The bus system isn't a hassle at all. It's not a big bus crammed with people. Ours was more like a large minivan that had just a couple other people on it. You walk on, hand your dollar to the driver and take a seat. No muss, no fuss. Easy as pie. And tell the driver when you see the hotel where you want to stop to walk through to the beach. He'll just pull over right there in the middle of the road and let you out. Again, no problem.
