Cabins at Fort Wilderness Points Charts Posted! For Sale and Booking Dates too!

With those point charts, I could see spending all of January snowbirding in a cabin.

• Last few years before retiring...work remotely 3-5 days a week.
• No neighbor slamming doors.
• For working remotely, the cabin layout works for our situation.
• Buy a DVC AP and spend a month enjoying the parks at our leisure.
• We would have our own vehicle so we can skip Disney buses. Also easy to drive off property for restaurants, shopping, other sites, etc.

Anyone know how the wi-fi and/or cell service is in the cabins area?

Wow! This is great for big families (3+ kids) and also would be possible for our kids to bring a friend (and then we pile them all into the bedroom), while they are still underage and not likely to be out super late.

Cabins do not have their own laundry, right?

They do not have laundry in the cabins themselves.

Definitely thinking about retirement more and more every day.

That's a great idea on putting all the kids in the bedroom.

That is correct about the laundry. I believe there is 1 (maybe 2) laundry buildings. Certainly, not as nice as a 1BR or 2BR with it's own laundry. Comparing it to studios,if you have a vehicle when staying at CFW, I think it's going to be more convenient. Very short walk to your vehicle, drive to laundry building, load/unload. For many studios, it's multiple floors (OKW doesn't have elevators in all buildings) and in many cases it's a walk to another building.

Personally, I wouldn't stay at CFW without a vehicle or at a minimum a golf cart.

Someone posted on FB that they talked to their guide and was informed that the annual dues would be $12.15 pp

IF that holds to be true that will hold back a lot of buyers.

Getting around can be a bit tricky. There are internal buses. There is a bus stop near the enterance which is where you catch a bus to HS, Epcot and AK. The internal bus will also take you up to the boat launch for MK. You can also use a golf cart, walk or ride bikes, although E-bikes are banned at the Fort.

So if you use a golf cart or bike is there an area where everyone parks these by the boat launch/bus stop? I guess I can't picture it.

Yes, there is a golf cart parking lot by the boat launch and a large one by both the Settlement area and the Meadows area.

My guide is telling me he won't have the info until 2/1.

But dues at $12.15pp is really high, and while I'm happy with the point charts, if the price is $200+ and dues that high (higher than m HHI points!), I am leery of adding on there.

I'm gonna take that 12.15pp dues amount with a grain of salt since it seems to just be from one person/one guide. Seems way too high to me.

Then again, I'm still fairly surprised by the dues increase (and taxes) at VDH so I guess anything is possible.

All in the same spots they were when they were not a deluxe resort.

They are replacing the current cabins with ones manufactured off site AKA "Tiny Homes" - but cute! They will be in the exact same spots/loops where the cabins are now. The exterior footprint is the same.

$30/night for owners (the language was a bit unclear if that means only "Home Resort owners at CFW" or any DVC owner. $50/night for any guests, cash reservations or exchangers.

I’m really disappointed they’re going to charge a nightly fee, with no upper limit, for owners. The possibility of bringing my dogs was what had me interested in owning. But 30k ish to buy in plus a couple grand in maintenance (that can of course go up each year) plus $210 + tax in pet fees for a week (and of course the pet fees could change at time). The math was already pretty terrible but the money grab fee (when you don’t even get any cleaning service during the stay when you have dogs and they do 0 “extra” cleaning to justify the charge) tips it into forget it territory for me - it’s not comparable at all to what any other pet-friendly hotels or timeshares do for pet charges.

We aren't DVC owners (yet) and this would not probably be where I would buy... but I've always been interested in staying in Ft. Wilderness and the new murphy bed ups the appeal. It would be good option if we traveled with some extended family.

If people bought direct a CFW would they be able to use those point at all other DVC properties (at 7 months)? Or is that still unknown?

I'm also wondering if it actually going to be considered "deluxe" would that give it deluxe resort perks like extended evening hours?

I don't see them ever restricting directly bought points and not being able to use them to book other places at 7 months. It should absolutely be eligible for extended evening hours.

Same sentiment here. I love the point chart and the size of the cabins but don't love the location (no frame of reference as I have never stayed in fort wilderness).

Unfortunately, I don't own any direct points so will likely never have a chance to try. The FOMO is real on any new property though. Lol.

I am running through my head if it makes sense to buy a small contract to be able to stay there once every three years.
