we had this room on our last cruise with the adjoining room. we loved it. it was quite and convient location. we had our 4 girls in the other room and we could not hear them so noise is not a problem. it was nice and close to midship elevators and stairs.

jill

Jill, we have the same two rooms as you booked next summer - can you comment about any vibration or ship's motor noises in these rooms? That's my only potential concern...I love the idea of being a hermit down on deck 1 otherwise, haha!

Just so you know, this thread is 13 years old and it appears that Jill hasn't logged in for 4 years. There's a somewhat more recent review here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomreport.cfm?Room=1051 It's 7 years old so it's hard to say, but it's probably a little more up to date.

I saw it was old but thought it was worth a try :)

I did see the stateroom reviews, but those were for the Wonder, not the Magic. I know they have the basic same layout but there are some differences.

I cant speak for that specific room but I prefer to have adjoining rooms. I've never had noise issues and I like to have that door knob there to use as an extra hook in the room. It comes in handy for ironed dinner clothes. ;)

We too got upgraded to this deck not sure what number though it has been a long time. I was upset but it turned out to be our favourite place and cruised our first 5 trips on the Magic on that deck. It is upgrade because you have the split bath.

It is great when you get back on and off the ship at ports. No waiting for the elevator or doing the stairs after you are hot and tired.

Just remember you can not use the aft elevators at all only mid ship and forward. If you do take the elevators after coming out of Animators you will go to a very quiet area with all the door closed down there.

For the noise I didn't find it bad. Didn't hear any banging doors but that is all up to your other cabin mates down there not the crew. There was some noise one morning from them working on something though the walls but it didn't bother us plus it was later not really early.

Enjoy your trip !

Just to clarify in case you ever request "adjoining" rooms somewhere and are surprised to not have the door in between...

In travel-speak, "adjoining" can be directly across the hall, diagonally across the hall, or next to each other but without a door in between. "Connecting" is the term for rooms with a door in between.

We love 1051! We also book connecting 1053. They are connecting 10Cs. We alternate between forward 4Bs (in Alaska or the Baltic) or book deck 1 insides if we are Galveston to the Bahamas (as we aren't that interested in the "scenery" of the Gulf of Mexico, generally).

Pluses are that it is super quiet and it is easy to get to Deck 3. It's also super easy to get an elevator and getting off in ports is a total breeze! We booked it again, purposefully, for this Christmas.

This is correct. :thumbsup2 I used the terminology from the original post, assuming what was being asked, and not thinking. ;)

After posting I realized this is a 13 year old post so it was all irrelevant. :rotfl:
