Cabin and transportation questions

First off, if we request loop 2100( i think that is most closest to post- ) but how long of walk to the marina? I have spoken to some that said they waited along time after missing a bus. So, wondered how often the internal buses come around. Also, The boat to MK-do they have set times that they leave (ie-every 1/2 hr eg) or is it depend on crowds.
Dh really hates waiting for buses plus with all the waits in the parks on top of it!

another question-if you rent a cart, do you have to have it for the full days you stay. I don't see needing it for the first and last day of my visit. But also if i find that the walking is not so bad, can we return it early?

First off the internal buses run about every 15 minuets, the same with the boat to Magic Kingdom. We always stay in a cabin without a car and have no problems with the buses or the boat. Make sure you read the maps that you get when you check in so you know which direction you go in on the bus. If you want to walk to the Settlement where you get the boat to Magic Kingdom or the bus to MGM Studios it is a pleasent walk of .95 of a mile from loop 2100. The distance to the Outpost where you check in or catch the bus to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney or the water parks is .75 of a mile.
You can rent a cart for any amount of days you want. Just make sure you make reservations well ahead of time as they go fast. The number to call the bike barn is 407-824-2742. There is not a problem with returning it early, you will receive a refund for the days you did not use.
Have a great trip. We love the Fort Wilderness cabins and would not stay any place else.
