Anyone have any pictures or information on the cabanas at the Paradise Pier? I’ve heard of them and would love to hear from someone who has stayed in one of the rooms!

We have stayed at the hotel before, so that much I do know, but we are thinking of being closer to the pool!

Thank you!

Sorry. I don't know the answer but I wanted to bump this thread as I have a similar question.
I'm staying at the DLH. Are there cabanas and how do I go about reserving a cabana there or at another hotel's pool???

Thanks

Jason

Jason,

Thanks for bumping into me! LOL!

I booked this over the phone and with concierge level. I made the request for the cabana. It sounds good, close to the pool with a porch area and gate. So, we can get out of the porch to the pool.
That being said, we will be there next week and I’ll post pictures then.
I didn’t ask about DLH. My gang wants the water slide at the Pier!

I know there is a thread somewhere that has pictures of the food from concierge at The Grand and Pier. There was some information on DLH, but it didn’t sound like it made the cut for concierge and we would like to try it this trip.

Since the time I've belonged here I don't remember a single trip report by someone who got those rooms.

There goes Disney again, using the same word to describe two different things!

The *cabana rooms* at PPH are rooms that have outdoor space (what would otherwise be a balcony) on the pool deck "floor". Pool at the PPH is on the roof of one part of the building; the 3rd floor, I believe. So there are rooms with sliding doors that end up leading out to the pool area.

The cabana rooms are for those staying Concierge level at the PPH, as far as I know.

The Grand recently put in private cabanas (using the word in a way that goes along with what most of us think of cabanas) at the pool that you can rent for the day (or half day?).

Since you can only get into the pool of the hotel you are staying at, unless they are doing construction at "your" pool (like right now the DLH pool is closed, as far as I know, so DLH guests can use the other pools during that time), unless you have that access to the Grand, you can't rent the cabanas at the Grand.

We last stayed at DLH May of '09, and there were no cabanas at that time. Perhaps that's what is changing with this construction!

4campers, your gang knows that the PPH slide does NOT empty into the pool, yes? It looks like a really fun slide, but it just ends in a shallow thing of water, away from the pool.

Yes, well, I do, they were younger then and probably don’t remember it. We will try it again, only because I’m curious about using the concierge for this trip. I’m getting lazy and like being able to just eat and not have to ‘go’ out!!! LOL!

We love the Grand’s pool, don’t get me wrong, but it’s a bit pricey for the concierge for us:eek: We were just there two weeks ago for just one night and I can’t get my girls off the slide!! Love the poolside service by the way!!!

I’ll turn in a full trip report after or maybe a bit during our visit!!!!

Thanks for all your wonderful information!!

Cheers!

Thanks Bumbershoot.

The reason I asked was that I saw that in the plans for the refurbished pool area at DLH, they are adding 6 new cabanas. I didn't know if that was 6 new or 6 in addition. I found out that DLH does not have any cabanas as of now.

I'm actually surprised. Being from Arizona and traveling to Las Vegas a lot, cabanas are very popular and are a good source of income.

I called and asked about the GCH cabanas and, like you said, we cannot reserve them as we are not staying at GCH. That's too bad. I would have reserved one and spent a half day there and then gone to the Spa and spent money there to get a massage. Their loss I suppose.

As far as the pool. I believe it is open or will be open when I arrive on June 21st???? If not, I will call back and demand a cabana!

Thanks

Jason

Oh 4campers please do report. With pics if possible. :rolleyes1 We are staying at PPH at the end of July and have requested a Cabana room too. Traveling with 3 teenagers and they love the pool. So, I thought it would be much easier. I hope I get one.

Ok…just got off the phone with PPH and the Cabana rooms are for concierge level only! At least that’s what I was told. And, there is no guarantee that you will get the room until arrival, which I hate!

So, we will have to wait and see! Hopefully, I’ll post pictures from our Cabana room soon!!

I actually have stayed in one of the cabana rooms once at PPH... Got it as a cheap deal through travelocity if I remember correctly. I guess therefore it's not just for concierge guests, and I was up/downgraded just 'cause they had room.

It was the first room at any Disney property that I had ever stayed in that had just one bed (queen?) in the room, so I figured I got it for that reason.

Other than having the patio and gate to the pool area, it was a normal room.

Thanks for the information. We do have a concierge room booked but, was hoping to be able to get the cabana room. CM I spoke with did say that there is cabana's that have two queens and a fold out couch? Actually she even said they offered Cabana suites. For a higher price of course. Anyway, good luck in getting the cabana room and can't wait to see the pics if you do.
