June 16 was opening day for the Tower rooms and suites at Cabana Bay, as well as the new lazy river and pool. Does anyone have a report? What's it like? Pros/cons. You know........info of any kind???

Apparently you have to buy your floatation device...

wow, that sucks. Seems like CB is really nickel and diming you to death.

Really interested to hear reports about the new sections too!

About the tube rental - that's ridiculous! I bet that won't last long. People are going to complain. Who wants to drag a float back and forth to your room and keep up with which one belongs to who when they all look alike?!

I'll just go to walmart and buy one for $1 and throw it away!

I think they plan to take advantage of their captive audience with no vehicles and whining kids having meltdowns. It's amazing how much money a frazzled parent will fork over to shut Junior up!:rotfl: Sad thing is I've stayed in a few lesser quality hotels in other locations that feature lazy rivers and they always provide the tubes......

Good point! People will probably suck it up and pay, but on those little surveys they like to send after your stay, I bet they start getting some complaints about that. I don't think it's too much to ask to have tubes for a lazy river. We have a lazy river at our neighborhood amenities center and even they have tubes tons in different shapes and sizes!

I agree. I think by the fall, the tubes will probably be free.

Are you allow to bring your own tube to the last river?

Yikes, not happy about being charged for a tube! If its not free by October I'll probably pack a cheapy one from Walmart or the Dollar Store in the suitcase and then will give it away when we leave. It will help 'reserve' space in the suitcase for souvenirs on the way home and spread some pixie...err...Minion dust for some other family.

Hoping to see some pics/feedback though soon of the rooms/river

when I made my reservation for a tower room in mid sept. I was told you have to rent one of their tubes. you cannot bring your own, or your own "noodle" and you can't just "float" along.

now that was about a month and a half ago.. maybe now that they are actually open, things will change.. hopefully!

at stormalong bay at Beach club, they had tubes for rent. I do not know if you oculd bring in your own tubes. but I do know we brought our own noodles and used those.. and we were also able to to just float along.. (they also sold noodle at the gift shop.)

That seems silly. It won't last. How are they going to police that? Wade out and drag them out. If forced I will purchase the cheapest one and then share with my other family members. Then write a letter of complaint to the company.

I am curious as to see what the official policy is now as well. Someone has posted on another web site at the tubes are for purchase only, there are no tubes for rent. You may bring your own flotation device, purchase one, or use the lazy river without any flotation device. I would like to hear additional confirmation(s) of this.

I just called the resort and spoke with the resort and they said we can bring our own. I hope the lady I spoke with was correct
407-503-4000.

I just called to ask about cabana rentals (they're all $100 a day) and I asked about the lazy river float deal too. She said they sell the tubes but that you can bring your own - no problem. No rentals or free ones.

I give it a few weeks... :rolleyes2:rolleyes:

anyone know if they sell noodles at the gift hsop.. those are usually pretty reasonable.

Just did a quick search, their price for the tubes isn't bad, they are not trying to make money selling them, just wish they have them for guest to borrow so we don't have to bring our own.

Are the ones for purchase pre-inflated or inflated for you? I don't mind buying one if they are.
