Traveling for my 6th wedding anniversary we spent our 1st anniversary at discovery cove and are excited to be going back. Our party has a total of 3 adults 2 children and 2 infants. I see the cabanas have a total capacity of 6 guest. Do infants count towards the guest count or is it only paying ticketed people?

I am guessing that the infants wouldn't count as persons for the cabana reservation. That said, I am calling later this morning to book our cabana package for August, so I will ask for you while I have the customer service rep on the phone. Will post the answer for you a little later on :thumbsup2 .

Alrighty, I just called :thumbsup2 .

Children 2 and under do not count toward the occupancy of the cabana :) .

And we now have our Elite package booked for August :woohoo: . That deserves a dance!

Whoohooo for the Cabana!!!

We have one booked for APril!!!:cool1:

I just can't seem to make a decision on where I would like to request its location??? I know its not a big park, and suggestions for me??

Right now I asked to be over by the serenity bay area. I want my kids to be able to play in the sand.

I was also thinking about asking to right by the dolphin pool. but i am not sure if i want to watch people doing their dolphin swim all day long!!!

I am not even sure what some of the cabana locations are  . Ours was located right beside the Grand Reef the last time. I would love to have one near the lazy river or the Freshwater Oasis (our two favourite areas of the park). When I call back to confirm what I want to have written on the dolphin buoy, I might just add those special requests to the ressie in the hopes that they can accommodate us :) .

You guys are amazing. Thank you so much for the info. I can ask for a specific location? Any suggestions with the young ones? Also does anyone know the cost of the cabana and what it includes. I'm trying to figure out if I just want the cabana or just add add celebration package

Cabana-only reservations are $175. They are only available for booking, however, at the 3-week point prior to your visit and only if any are still remaining for your date.

Cabanas can be secured earlier than the 3-week point by booking as an add-on to a special occasions package. For example, you can book a Celebration Package for $129 then add a cabana for another $100 (for a total of $229). You will then get the "extras" that come with the celebration package including the buoy delivered to you during your dolphin swim, photo frame or plush toy, a DC tote bag, and a 25% discount on one of the two largest photo packages.

We purchased the Elite Package which includes all the items in the Celebration Package, the cabana rental, plus the ultimate photo package. It was $359. It turned out to be the best value for us. Here's why:

We were going to get the cabana anyway. So assuming we went with a cabana-only reservation, that would have been $175.

The Ultimate photo package (which includes both the DVD of the dolphin swim AND the photo CD, plus a selection of other items from prints to keychains to a poster and photo album) is $219. We had planned on buying this on the day of our visit as well, as it will be DS's GF's first Florida visit and her first time to DC (and we are all doing the dolphin swim).

So for a cabana + the Ultimate photo package as separate stand-alone purchases, the price would be $394. And that was *hoping* that there would be a cabana available at the 3-week mark (which was our biggest concern, as we are visiting during the super hot month of August).

We were able to get the cabana + the photo package + the "extras" (buoy , tote bag, and frame) for $359 under the Elite package. We save $35 over the separate purchase of the cabana and photo pacakge and then get the extras for free. And....best of all, we can guarantee our cabana now rather than hope for the best the month before we travel.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions that I might be able to help with :) .

Got it!!!! One more question: we have to break up our party on the Dolphin swim bc we have the 2 little ones who can't do it yet. Will my niece and daughter be able to be included in our photo package? example: my husband and I will do the swim and then my niece and daughter will do the swim

My *guess* is that as long as all your admissions are on the same reservation, you can all be on the same photo package. But that's just a guess.......I would call, to be sure, as it would involve to separate dolphin swim DVD's. I would think it would be easy to combine all photos from both swim sessions onto one CD.

Does anyone know the different areas the cabanas are located in DC? Also can anyone suggest a good location to request?

If you go to the website, click on the PDF file of the park map, look closely. You can see small white squares located throughout the park. They are intended to represent Cabanas. They are not exact location, and they have even added a few more, but it will give you an area to request.

I myself am having a hard time making a request because i am unsure of what area we will be using most. I have a feeling that my kids may be afraid of the reef area, and Im not sure I want to watch the dolphin interactions/swims all day, so right now I am asking to be near Serenity bay. Figuring it is centrally located near the food/restrooms, and hopefully my kids can play in the sand and swim close by. I am hoping that when I check in the DC representative will be able to help us choose a good location. :yay:HTH
