Just curious if anyone knows what the approximate cab fare is between Wilderness Lodge and Typhoon Lagoon?? Taking the bus over is no big deal, but after a day of water and sun, it may be better to take a cab than sitting on a bus in a wet/damp suit pirate:

Thanks!!

Rather than add another topic I would like to add a few more cab destination questions:
from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom
from Wilderness Lodge to MGM
from Wilderness Lodge to Downtown Disney

Thanks!!!

For both of you: there's a Taxi Fare Estimator link in the Popular Transportation Links 'sticky' thread at the top of this forum.

Now, this is just me, and I realize cab drivers are in business to make money but - out of consideration for the cab driver AND the subsequent passengers, maybe taking a cab while wearing a wet swimsuit isn't the best idea?

Truly, though - you won't be going directly from the wave pool or lazy river, into the cab. Most likely, given the Orlando temperatures, the properties of spandex (no, not that one - the one that allows the material to dry much more quickly than, say, a cotton knit) and the absorbancy of terrycloth - you probably won't even be damp by the time you exit the park, much less wet. And you can always bring a change of clothes.

Mears has a taxi estimator you can use here. Put in the resort address as well as the park, and you should get a good idea of the fares.

I tried the Wilderness lodge to Animal Kingdom, using the addresses that I found (there was no specific street number for animal kingdom) and got $0.00
Free Ride!!! yee hawww

I will just give the cab company a call.

Yeah, okay, print out that page and hand it to the cab driver :)

Okay, it cost me $19.75 to get from the Contemporary to Pop Century. Figure between $15 and $30?

My thought on this, though never used a cab, is that the Disney buses are A/Ced and nice to ride in wet or dry and really like the "free". Cabs sit, not running, and do not turn on the air until it starts moving and usually does not work well. Cab fares are not cheap around property, to me that is, 10-15 bucks to haul my butt when the bus is free is not cost effective. I believe the cab we use from Kissimmee Amtrak to WDW is 5.25 just to sit in and then the ticker goes wild. To each his own but whats the rush?

I called the cab company and the fares between the spots I mentioned varry from 14.00 to 16.00, which is not bad.

. . . Yes, I've tried the bus a few times and it sucked. Each time it was packed just like a NYC bus, except with tons of crying kids and cranky parents, and strollers. The bus from Wilderness Lodge to MGM took over 1/2 hour and made 4 stops way off the beaten path before getting to the destination. Not to mention the waiting time at the stop before the bus even showed up.

I figure if I'm paying to stay in a "luxury" resort for a few thousand dollars, I can save another 70.00 or so before I get there to be used on taxis that get me to the fun faster as well as give me a more relaxed ride back to the hotel.

We'll tighten up the budget on buying less cheap plastic character straws and other crap at the park and put it towards a more comfortable ride 4 or so times.
