Cab fare to LAX? Or other transportation options

Does anyone know the general amount for a cab from Anaheim to LAX? Or even a minimum amount? Are there good shuttle services?

We might be visiting DL for a day after a cruise. My friends can drop us off at DL, but then we'd be on our own for getting back to LAX. I'm thinking about renting a car, but not sure how expensive that will be for a one-way rental. It might just be worth it if the cab fare is high.

ETA: Any estimations about how long it takes to get to LAX on a Tuesday, late morning? Our flight is at 2:30 and we would check in on line.

Cab fare is going to be outrageous.
I was quoted a minimum of $90 from LAX to Harbor Blvd (actually Santa Ana, but just down the street from Anaheim and Disneyland) and that's without tip.


If you decide to go with a shuttle service:

From most reports I've seen folks are generally happy with the Disneyland Resort Express. I believe adult fare is around $20 one way.

No driving circles around and around the airport trying to fill the van or taking a grand tour of every city between the airport and the resort; as you are likely to get with Super Shuttle or Prime Time Shuttle.


Personally I'd probably go with Hotwire for a car rental.


Sorry, no travel time estimates other than always expect the unexpected when it comes to LA traffic.
Hopefully someone else will be able to give you a better answer on this one.

Call Enterprise Car Rental we got a great deal for 3 days $90. Dh called 4 times, and like Disney, he got the best deal on the last call from $146. down to $90 for a full size car.

The Web Site s**** But calling is great! This location is the nearest to DL and Harbor Blvd. Try to set it up before leaving on your cruise. Dh called both the Anaheim office and the national number.

We used xpress shuttle and it was $87 ish from LAX to our hotel (close to Disney). Their service was not good....we called and waited and waited for them, about 45 minutes...on the last call they said...oh we have you down for 2008..umm no. Well they arrived to pick the 7 of us up in a mini van. The driver said to my 7 year old...oh don't get in yet...I have a special seat for you! Get this...he wanted our 7 year old to sit on my husband's lap- no belt. WHen my husband said that is illegal and not safe..he simply said "oh we do it all the time, it will be fine..another shuttle will be 1.5 hours to get here..up to you guys".
If you need a shuttle, go with primetime or super shuttle and pay a bit more.

I think that if you are absolutely opposed to renting a car, then Super Shuttle is the best way to go. They provide excellent service- and if you call to make reservations [1-800-BLUE-VAN] and give them your flight details, they can keep track of whether your flight is running behind/ahead of schedule so that you absolutely do not miss your shuttle. I use them whenever I'm travelling.

[If you're not opposed to renting a car, I know that when I have had friends come out of town to visit me, they've have found that it's been less expensive to do that for the duration of their stay- and they have also enjoyed the freedom that its afforded them to get around. I guess the only consideration there would be whether or not the hotel that you were staying at charged for parking- because then that would mean an additional cost.]
