I have searched a few different ways on Google and I'm not finding an answer to my question so to the DIS I go.

This is the first year we've used these. DH saw a decorated tree using these and wanted to do the same with ours so we have red and green C7's mixed with colored minis. It is really pretty BUT they seem to be pretty hot. I don't have to remove my hand so they don't burn but they're still pertty hot. Is that normal? I found a tutorial on C7 lights online but they say they are cool burning and no more dangerous than twinklers or LED lights. They are sure hotter to the touch than those though. Do we have defects or is the hot feel normal?

we use c7's in the village displays ( dept. 56 or Lemax) & they get hot.

I find they do get hot.

When I was growing up (70's - 80's), my parently only used C7's and I remember having to be careful decorating the tree (real). Between the prickles of the branches and the heat from the bulbs, it was a challenge!

We used to use the c7's and c9's outside when I was a kid and I've always LOVED the look of the big bulbs! I've always wanted to try them inside on the tree but I knew they get pretty hot and was under the impression they were just for outdoor use.

We use the C7s outside, but I'm chiming to agree that they get hot! When DH was making adjustments after they'd been up for a while he got a minor burn on the inside of his wrist, so be careful.

We bought C7 LED lights this year for our tree. I love the old fashioned look of the bulbs, but the color is off. I'm getting used to it. The LEDs aren't even warm after being on all day.

We have C7 lights. They've been on all day, and I just felt one...hot, but not unbearable to the touch.

Yep, those suckers can get pretty warm. Nothing to really worry about though.
