BYOB to Dinner? What is allowed?

We bought bottles of wine in Key West and brought them onto the ship. We got wine glasses at whatever bar we happened to be near and always brought our own wine to dinner. It didn't seem to make our assistant server upset, maybe because my husband usually ordered a mixed drink as well. I personally prefer my own wine and I really didn't want to pay those fees for a glass on board. Towards the end of the week, when it looked like we weren't going to use it all up, I even went back to my room to refill during dinner. The server and assistant didn't seem to mind. Hopefully they didn't, I would feel bad but it is too late now.
I also sometimes would bring a glass of wine to the shows from our room.

i just want to make sure i understand the rules. we are going on an ncl cruise this summer and i think i am getting the rules mixed up...

On DCL we can bring wine onboard, in carry-on bags, without a fee. The corking fee is only when it is brought into the dining room and served by DCL staff - correct?

can anyone on tonight confirm byob wine rules? I know there are corking fees in dining rooms, but what about bringing bottles on board in carry-ons?

I believe he may be referring to one of those huge mugs that they sell at 7-11 or Quick Check that holds something like 100 oz. of liquid!!! Well not really 100 but you know what I mean!! LOL

That sounds like one of the DCL refillable mugs. LOL!

You are not charged for any drinks that you bring onboard when you carry them on the ship.

You are correct that as long as you don't take the wine bottle into the dining room you will not be charged a corkage fee.

a week to plan here... can i bring wine on without a fee if it stays in our stateroom?? doing NCL in the summer and thinking i am getting their rules confused with DCL rules. Thanks to anyone who can help.
