BYO food for a Toddler?

Are there any rules about bringing in any food for my toddler at sit down restaurants? And by our own food, I mean like a snack bar to eat while we wait for the food. He is under 3 and I plan to order food for him, just not sure if they are extremely strict about outside food. The current non-buffet ADRs we have are Steakhouse 71 and Ohana that I am a little nervous about. I do this all of the time at non-Disney restaurants, just know Disney has a lot of rules/standards so wanted to check!

something to remember which is not your case is at places like Ohana a child over 3 will still be charged even if you bring in food. not say this about your question but for others reading this. but to add to your question even though it is not a buffet it is an all you can eat Ohana has same rules as buffet

Correct. If you have a disabled child over 3 however you can request a "medical no eat" and they are not charged and you can bring your own food for that child, so there is an exception here for those who need it.

You will be absolutely fine. We used to take snacks into TS all the time when DS was a toddler (yogurt bites, cereal, etc.) We also either ordered him some food or he ate off of our plates. It wasn't a problem.

I bring in my own food and snacks for my toddler. We rarely order food for him since it's hit or miss if he'll actually eat it. No one's ever given us a problem.

I usually have a bag of goldfish with me to keep my kids from being hangry, never a problem.

That is at the discretion of the restaurant and is not guaranteed.

i have numerous dietary restrictions and I've never had a problem with bringing my own food to supplement what's possible to be modified on the menu. Heck i even pulled out my entire meal from my bag at dinner one night because hubby was craving BBQ and we went to whispering canyon. I'm allergic to pork and didn't trust anything they could serve me but they didn't care that all I had was a glass of milk.

as others have mentioned, when it's a character meal, or a meal that's one price to cross the threshold, expect to pay full pop for everyone over the age of 3. I had a very expensive glass of milk and bowl of Blueberries at Topolinos for breakfast but it was worth it to see donald!

No glass containers in the parks btw. Always make sure they haven’t charged you.

We had one table service credit taken off at Sanaa despite not ordering extra for our 2 year old child. Fortunately we happened to stop by the front desk to check on something else and they asked if we wanted to know how many credits were left (AKL-Jambo front desk friendly; housekeeping very rude-coffee pods not refilled or given partial 2 of 4 pods requested after waiting 30 mins; had to show the stain to get bedsheets changed etc).
