Bye mum

[Mrs Dazzle]

Darryl's mum peacefully passed away last Saturday, 25th, after a long fight against cancer.

We were all with her at the end and have to say it is a relief that she's not suffering any more. Not looking forward to Friday when the funeral will be, but that's one of the stages in life

It seems strange coming home this week as the last two weeks have been spent mainly at mums providing 24 hour round the clock care - she didn't want to be anywhere other than home.

I'm proud to say she was my mother-in-law and will miss her terribly.

And poor Katie's 10th birthday was yesterday - she's home from school with a terrible lurgy and a temperature over 40 degrees. Her birthday party was cancelled on Saturday so we'll be celebrating again with her in a couple of weeks time

I'm really sorry to hear about Darryl's Mum Annie
Theres nothing to say at times like these, except how very very sorry we are.
Your Mother in law must of been a very special lady as you speak so highly of her. I know alot of people arn't really that close to theirs. At least now shes at peace away from pain.

Poor Katie, it sounds as though shes having an awful time of it too. Right on top of her birthday aswell.
It never rains but it pours.

Thank you - everyone - for your lovely words of comfort and support at such a terribly difficult time.

The funeral went very well yesterday - Darryl had intended to take a lifejacket so we could float out of the church but it wasn't needed (much!). We had over 80 people at the church service and it seemed as many floral tributes - the smell from the flowers was beautiful. We have brought a couple of bouquets home with us to place on my parent's grave this morning to say hello to all three of them

Life now goes on - Darryl is away after our cemetery visit in a few minutes to a week on business in Birmingham at an exhibition his company are attending. He was due up there in the week, but obviously this was delayed. I think he's looking forward to getting on with life now - it's what mum would have expected, bless her.

It's hard to believe that this time (11am) only a week ago I sat with her and told her to let go - and then she did. No more suffering thank goodness.

It's so nice to hear from you all - thank you so much again for your lovely words of support.

(PS: Katie now on the mend - she came to the funeral and we were very proud of her. She had some inline skates for one of her birthday pressies and is itching to get out on them . . . I'm not!!! She's like her mum - clumsy ). She really appreciated all the happy birthdays from everyone on the boards - she really was very excited, think's she's now famous because she's been on the internet ).

Have a lovely weekend everyone - enjoy yourselves. I'm going out for some retail therapy tomorrow Well, it's the only way, isn't it
