I didn't grow up with it but we started when my family moved to Chattanooga. My Mom would have HER faves circled and all the stuff she wanted to give my son.

I didn't but this is how my MIL would deal with Christmas lists every year. When I started dating DH I thought the way everyone circled stuff in different colored pen was the cutest thing ever! I knew I was 'IN' when she handed me the book and told me to pick what I wanted.

My sister and I used to circle - we each used a different colored pen. What a great memory!

Now I give my kids the TrU catalog each year to circle, although my son is outgrowing that. (He prefers GameStop's ads, lol.)

i used to love the sears catalog. i didn't get most of what i circled, but it was still fun.
