I LOVED the Wish book! Does Sears even put one out anymore?

Ah, the good old days...long before Toys R Us! :rotfl:

I did this, too, all the time. My best Christmas memory was the year I didn't look at it until Christmas Eve and I was circling things and then Christmas morning, one of the things I had circled was actually under the tree! That was the best!

My niece used to write down the page and item #'s of what she wanted. My favorite was "page 16, all". :)

I still do this, except now it is Lands End, LL Bean, and Soul Flower catalogs instead of Sears :)

Santa works fast!!:santa:

i loved circling things... my parents did not really go by that... i jut had fun doing it.
I also used to cut out some accessories (radios..etc) for my paper dolls

Those are some of my favorite memories. I would sit for hours and go through that book a million times. Now I give my kids the Toys R Us book (which is not even close to what the Sears one was) and they circle what they want.

For a trip down memory lane, the following is a site that has reproduced several old Wishbooks and other catalogs. You can scroll through the pages and let the memories come flooding back!

Thank you for making this poll! Clearly this was a bigger phenomenon than I thought.
I miss those days. :sad1:

my brother and i did it slightly differently. when the wishbooks (sears and jc penney) came in the mail, we would each take a sheet of paper, and go through the catalog page-by-page, and write down what we wanted. did we get it all? of course not, but i guess that's the purpose of a wishbook. it was great fun, and we looked forward to it every year.

AACK! Oh how I remember doing this. The four of us kids would squabble over who got to circle first and my parents would just groan and roll their eyes.

Absolutely -- I remember that I'd always want to check the mail to see if today was the day when the Wish Book came!

I know that this was the start of my catalog obsession. :lmao: Even now, I circle things I want and put the size & color -- I don't think DH would know how to shop for me if I didn't! He's even taken the Coldwater Creek catalog to the mall and just handed it to the salesperson :rolleyes1

Yes, of course my two younger brothers and I circled or wish list in the Sears catalog. I had my oldest DD do the same. Youngest one never did though. Don't have any catalogs for her to look through.

It wasn't JCPenny's, but I remember going through my Lego ones and my sister's American Girl ones and pick out what I'd like.

Me, me!! And - my kids!! All of the Christmas catalogs - not just Sears..:yay::yay:

I want them back! :headache:

Ha-Ha...........my kids now do that so i have to get them each one as theres no way they can share.........love how the closer to the holidays it gets the more stuff thats circled. My 10 year old daughter was dismayed this year that there was not much in there she wanted :lmao:
They still put them out? I thought they stopped!
